The landing web page for Motorola's Atrix Smartphone states, "The World's Most Powerful Smartphone." While many will say, "We've heard that one before," Motorola isn't kidding. At least at the moment - until the next clever device arrives on the market.
In brief, the Motorola Atrix is an Android powered dual-core processor smart phone with a continuing list of outstanding features. Running on Android 2.2 Froyo, the Atrix features a 1GHz Dual Core CPU that allows for quick application access, high powered gaming, and a rich media experience.
So what are the specific features and what makes the phone so different than all the rest? For starters, a very spacious memory allowance is a huge improvement over many other current devices. There is a full 1 GB of RAM for application functionality and seamless multitasking. Supported storage memory for applications and other content is 48GB, that is - 16GB on board, with up to 32 GB supported by an optional microSD Card. The included 1GHz Dual Core CPU raises the bar in mobile phone CPU performance, with each core running at 1 GHZ for a combined 2 GHz, fluid application and gaming performance is ensured.
While all of the qualities of the Atrix are worthy of being praised, one additional standout feature is the new qHD display that offer incredible resolution and 24-bit color. Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, the display offers a crisp and brilliant 960 x 540 display.
As phones have evolved into mini-computers, Motorola takes this concept in a new direction by offering two docking station solutions for the Atrix. With new webtop applications installed, the Atrix docks conveniently with the optional lapdock, a slim laptop like device that offers full screen web browsing and application use. As smaller available HD Multimedia Dock includes an HDMI and multiple USB ports allows for multimedia expansion.
The Atrix also includes other outstanding features, such as, 2 cameras with LED flash, the ability to record in HD, two internal microphones for clearer outgoing call quality, fingerprint recognition technology, 3G hotspot capabilities, 4G support, and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connectivity.
More information including availability and other accessories can be found at the official Motorola Atrix website.
