Investing Contests

I've been blogging a little bit about this investment contest I'm in and I just kind of wanted to point out why it is so great as well as others like it.

The main reason these contests are so great is the educational value. I mean you can spend as much money on an education as you want to but the only thing that really helps is getting out in the real world and seeing what you've got.

When it comes to managing your retirement or just investing some of your extra money it is really important not only to have a great knowledge of the various financial markets but also to have some confidence. If you think something is going to happen or a stock is a great value you need to be able to pull the trigger. To some being able to pull the trigger on a trade that involves thousands of your hard earned dollars comes naturally, but not to me.

Investing contests also help you communicate with other people that are interested in the financial markets as well. This communication with other people can really help you brain storm ideas and network with other people that share you strategies and views. Many of them will being doing research on different areas of the markets and it's possible to benefit from each others work. This really can help you cut down on your work load when it comes to investing.

The best thing by far about the particular investing contest that I'm involved in right now is the prize money. They give out thousands of dollars each week in prizes. That means you could even possibly get a nice chunk of prize money to start trading @ basically no cost to you. So not only are getting yourself an education in the financial markets, networking with other investors but you are also putting yourself in a position to win money in the process.

All in all if you are interested in trading, investing, learning about the financial markets or just competing with other people for prize money these online investing contests are excellent. When the only thing you have to put up is some of your time and so many ways to benefit there's no way to lose.
