Invisible Wall

A.M. Morgan
These feet of mine are tired and walk very slowly

These hands of mine tell a sad but heartwarming story

These eyes of mine have lines to signify years of a unique journey

This heart of mine is only cold because its security blanket is tattered

This mind of mine likes to roam and fantasize about what could be

This sinner inside of me still has private conversations with God

This life of mine is full of broken promises yet still I envision my dreams

This time I live is still borrowed but each night I wish for another day

This self doubt of mine does more harm to me than good

Could it be some of my heartbreak is caused by not doing something I should?

These blessings of mine are not directed by my own actions and sight

These fears of mine may not be worth the self confidence sacrifice

This wall I see is not really there

So I often hold the weight of a cross I don't have to bear

I can climb and reach for the top because the barrier I once saw is actually not really there

Pretty good! I am one of those with an invisible wall. I am learning slowly how to keep moving past it.

It's amazing how easily we create our own obstacles, and yet how difficult it can sometimes be to overcome them.
