iPad 2 Release Date, Features to Be Announced by Apple on March 2

The past couple of months have given way to a great deal of excitement and curiosity in regards to the iPad 2 release date and which features are to be included in the device. It seems that wait could very well be over soon, as whispers trickle that Apple plans to reveal the iPad 2 on March 2, 2011. Oddly, the news comes just one day after Apple genius Steve Jobs was caught on film rather disoriented after cancer treatment earlier that day.

The first-generation iPad was a huge hit among shoppers and has proved wildly beneficial for both personal and professional use. Once the rumors began of a second-generation iPad being in development, production speculations began on what features the new iPad 2 would have and when the PC tablet would be released. Although Apple has made no efforts to confirm or deny any rumors, it has been speculated the new gadget would have a USB port (not currently available on the original iPad), as well as dual cameras.

As for where the event is to take place, current rumors believe the reveal will be held in San Francisco, where most major Apple events take place. As of yet, there have been no official confirmations as to when the tablet will become available for purchase.

If you aren't already familiar with the Apple iPad, it is very similar to the iPhone. With thousands of apps that optimize personal and business needs, it is certainly no surprise that so many have fallen in love with the array of features available. Of course, the iPad 2 is expected to have all of the features of the original iPad, but many are expecting major changes. It's possible that the new iPad could have bigger speakers, new apps and even a change in its design.

Apple isn't the only tablet in competition, though, and that's exactly why the new one is going to have some standards to meet. The Motorola Zoom release date is just days before the announcement by Apple on March 2, and there are others still that are in the market to compete for the signature of best PC tablet. For now, there is comfort in knowing that an official announcement has been planned for the iPad 2 release date, features and previously unrevealed information to be released.
