IPhone 3.0 Update

Today, Apple unveiled several key new features that will come as part of the iPhone 3.0 update in the summer. Many of these have been long awaited and they are:

MAIN FEATURES

- Cut, Copy & Paste: text and photos

- Spotlight: a new screen to the left of your homepage where you can search any information on the device

- Search in Mail, Calender, and iPod applications: you can now search messages, events, and songs in these apps

- Landscape Keyboard: applied to Mail, MMS, and Notes apps

- MMS: multimedia messaging will now be available on the iPhone

- Support for new calenders: can subscribe to calenders on the web

- Updated Stocks app: can read related news

- Stereo Bluetooth A2DP audio: can pair iPhone with a stereo Bluetooth A2DP device (headphones or speakers).

- Note Syncing with iTunes

- Auto login into Safari: don't need to repeating input your username and password

- Shake to shuffle your music

- Wi-Fi auto login

- Anti phishing: warns you against malicious sites


NEW APPS

- Voice memo app: record messages

- Send and receive files


3RD PARTY APP FEATURES

- Peer-to-peer Bluetooth connectivity

- Browse remote content

- Use device to control peripherals: use iPhone as an equalizer for a stereo

- Maps in apps: 3rd party apps can now use the Maps app directly

- Turn-by-turn directions

- Push Notification: receive messages automatically (finally)

- Access music from apps

PRICING & DATE

These updates will come in the form of a software update presumably in June or July and will be free for iPhone users and $9.95 for iPod touch users.
