IPhone 4 Debuts; IPhone 4 Release Date Also Revealed

The iPhone 4 release date was announced today at WWDC10 along with images of the iPhone 4. The release date is officially set by Apple to be June 24th, 2010, and will be available at AT&T Wireless stores on that day. The iPhone release date has been one of those dates rumored for most of spring, especially when there were stories that the iPhone would be available on other phone networks. The iPhone isn't leaving the AT&T stable just yet though, and though that may taper the excitement a bit when the iPhone 4 release date gets here later in June, it could still be an exciting moment for those who have fallen in love with their current iPhone models.

In addition to the iPhone release date, some of the big items that consumers were curious were if this phone would work on the 4G network and what it would have to offer that the older models don't already have. Well to answer the 4G question in the easiest way possible, it still doesn't even matter, because AT&T hasn't rolled out their 4G network to the whole nation, so that feature isn't even necessary on the iPhone's yet. A few of the innovations that iPhone 4 will have though, is that the phone will be thinner, it will have a lot longer battery life, and it is going to have HD Video capabilities finally. Of course it also has the improved camera that has been rumored for a while, and it will have a slightly flashier design as well, but what most customers have wanted is for the battery charge to last longer between uses.

The price point for the iPhone 4 will be very familiar, as this model will start at $199, right where the previous models have started for AT&T users. That will be for the 16GB model, but they also have a 32GB model available for $299 starting on June 24th. Do we think that this is a good deal right out of the gate? That question will need to be answered by each individual user, but it could be an easier decision for people just wanting to get into using an iPhone. This is a much better model that previously sold by Apple (and AT&T) so if you are a consumer that is looking to purchase your first iPhone, wait until the June 24th drop date and pick up one of these. If you don't, and buy one of the recently marked down older models, it could be something you regret mere weeks after the purchase.

The biggest customer base is intended to be users that have iPhones already but might be looking to upgrade to a new model. PC World has written up a nice article on the newest features, so head on over there if you want to sit down and weigh the pros and cons of getting an iPhone 4. As for the personal use of the iPhone, I have the 3G model, and it has worked pretty well on the whole. One of the items I want the most in a new iPhone is extended battery life between charges, and it seems like the iPhone 4 will offer me a significant boost in that department. I also like the upgraded digital camera that will be at 5 mega-pixels in the new model.

The Apple iPhone 4 will be available starting on Thursday, June 24th, and it will probably end up being another success for Apple.
