iPhone Complaints & Problems

Marli
Like many people out there, I was suckered into buying an Apple iPhone and like many people out there, I was severely disappointed. There are numerous complaints about this phone, so I'll will try to cover all of mine and then some of the other problems I've heard from others.

Glass Screen
Compared to some of the other problems with the iPhone, this is probably the least complained about, but this is one of my biggest problems. Within a week of purchasing my iPhone, I dropped it, like we all do, and in return I received a huge crack right down the middle of my screen. Haven't we all dropped a cell phone at some point in our lives? And shouldn't a cell phone be a little more durable? I think so. Another problem with the glass touch screen is how smudgy it gets! I constantly had to wipe down my previous phone's screen for smudge marks and it wasn't even a touch screen. Imagine how bad the iPhone is.

Battery
A removable battery is one of the most important features on a phone. When the phone begins to mess up, we take out the battery, replace it and usually the problem is fixed. But apparently that ease was spared when designing the iPhone. This isn't even the worst of it, when the battery dies, you have to send your phone in to Apple to get it fixed. That means being without a phone until Apple receives it in the mail, replaces the battery and sends it back. This sounds a little to complex for battery replacement in my opinion.

Besides the problem with the inability to remove the battery, the battery life is awful. I leave home with the battery charged and come home with it incredibly depleted. Plus, there is a fixed amount of memory, the iPhone can hold up to 8GB of memory but you cannot insert a card for more memory. Therefore, while the iPhone makes it possible to watch movies, it can only hold about eight since one movie usually takes around 1GB of memory.

Lack of Vital Features
The iPhone lacks many features that the American public has grown to love in their cell phones. The iPhone has no film or voice recording, no songs as ringtones, no MMS messaging, no voice dialing, and no copy and paste. These are not extravagant features, in fact, they are the basic features on many phones. Therefore, the Apple iPhone isn't some "super phone" it has simply sacrificed some important basic features for some completely useless ones (like watching YouTube load for 10 minutes). Speaking of watching YouTube load, another problem with the iPhone is the incredibly slow internet.

Price
With all of these problems, its only necessary to cover a very large problem- the very large price. Apple charges $400 for this phone, but if this phone sacrifices durability, convenience, memory, and basic features we all love, this phone is a sure-fire waste of money. The only thing this phone has going for it is the fact that it's the "new, cool gadget" a title that is sure to diminish in the near future.
