The iPod Touch is a great invention for people who love none stop reading pleasure. There are devices such as Amazon's Kindle and the Sony Reader that does provide book lovers the ability to carry many books along with them where ever they go and are even equivalent in size to a normal size book. But with the many iPod Touch apps specifically geared to book lovers not to mention the app store has many other reading friendly information available such as newspapers and blogs the iPod is clearly the winner for an all around portable reading machine. The app store is full of iPod Touch apps for book lovers that provide and endless reading list. The trick is to find the best iPod Touch apps to read books by both new and favorite authors without wasting precious reading time and money on apps that have not been well planned.

Amazon Kindle- The Amazon Kindle iPod Touch app is one of the best apps for finding and easily downloading books. This app accomplishes the same basic functions that the Kindle does. The user can browse and within seconds using a WIFI connection buy a book. The book being read can be changed to fit the readers needs in terms of font size and background colors. The biggest draw back from using the Amazon Kindle iPod Touch app over the actual Kindle is the size of the device. With the smaller size of the iPod Touch a reader will be turning more pages and more often, but if this is not an issue this is one of the best iPod Touch apps for book lovers.

Classics- For book lovers who enjoy reading classic literature the iPod Touch app called Classics is quite good. The reader starts off with a virtual bookcase with some of the greatest classic novels ever written ready to read. The iPod Touch reader will see the beauty behind this app once they choose a book from their reading list. Using this app brings the book lover as close to reading an actual book as can be expected from an electronic device.

Library List- For the avid book lover with a large reading list Library List is one of the better iPod touch apps and is well worth the pocket change. This app will help the book lover to keep a reading list of both books read and books yet to be read as well as having the ability to enter notes. This iPod Touch app is nothing fancy, but it does get the job done.

IndieBound- Keeping track of what the top selling books is for hardcover and trade paperbacks in both fiction and nonfiction as well as children's books is just a touch away with this iPod Touch app. It also has a search feature, and an independent bookstore lookup based on zip code.

Barnes & Noble- iPod Touch apps such as the Barnes & Noble app makes it fun to be a book lover using an iPod Touch. This app has recommended reads for book lovers as well as book reviews. One of the better features of this iPod Touch app is the B & N Studio which has videos in various categories on everything from meeting the author to their own little news show about books. This is a keeper app for book lovers.

BookSearch- iPod Touch apps can actually save the user money, and the BookSearch app has that potential. This app allows the user to do a search through a WIFI hotspot to look up whether a book can be purchased elsewhere cheaper.

But, the app called Bible from Lifechurch.tv will save the Bible reader money on the various translations of the Bible. This app lets the user read many different translations of the Bible through a WIFI connection as well as the ability to download for free several of the Bible translations to take with them when not near WIFI.
