IPhone OS 4.0 On the Way, Sounds like a Winner

iPhone OS 4.0 seems to be on the way, and if the leaked feature list is accurate, it looks like another game-changing development for Apple.

The newest incarnation of Apple's new iPhone software is expected to be unveiled next week alongside their highly anticipated tablet computer. The company has already sent out invitations to an event on January 27th, promising a look at their "latest creation."

According to Boy Genius Report, the new OS will be available for iPhone 3G/3GS only, and will include features such as multi-touch gesture control throughout the operating system, multi-tasking with "new ways" to apps in the background, plus changes to the user interface, making it easier to get around.

BGR's sources also told them that the update will make the iPhone "more like a full-fledged computer" than any other phone to date.

Sounds like trouble for Google and Android.
