You have your iPod, but now you want more. The Apple digital media players are great when you are on the go or just want to listen to music by yourself. But what if you want to listen to your music while you are doing other activities around the house? What if you want to take your iPod music with you to the beach or the park so that others can share in your music taste? Imagine everyone huddled around your earbuds to listen to that cool new tune. Fortunately you can get yourself iPod speakers.

Getting a speaker system for your iPod is a great solution and a great addition for the audiophile in you. It allows you the freedom to move about the house without having to carry around your Apple media player. It's an excellent solution when you are having a party or small get together. Plus, with multiple types of portable iPod speakers, you can take your music with you to the beach, park or wherever you may go.

"So many speakers, which do I choose?", you might be saying to yourself. It truly is mesmerizing how many different types of iPod speakers are out there. With the huge success of the Apple family of products, it seems like there are new speaker systems available daily. It all comes down to what you are looking for out of the speakers for your iPod. They basically come in two flavors, standalone and portable.

A standalone iPod speaker system is a great solution if you just want to keep the sounds of your iPod going while in the house. They tend to be bigger and less mobile. These type of systems typically output much better sound than portable devices, but this is not always the case. But overall, these type of speakers work excellent for parties or just lounging around the house. Two good examples are the Klipsch RoomGroove and the iHome ih52. Both offer exceptional sound and are extremely easy to operate.

Portable iPod speakers are a great solution when you are on the go. The smaller size makes them a perfect solution for travelers, campers, or heading off to the beach. A good example of a mobile iPod speaker is the DLO iBoom Travel, which is a great portable solution with the versatility to be used as an alarm clock, radio or iPod player.

So you can see, there are numerous things to think about when looking for iPod speakers. Portability, ease of use, quality, and price only scratch the surface as far as requirements.
