Iran Election Protests Update: Pulse of a Revolution
What a Difference a Day Makes in Iran Election Protests
This protest is his chance to make his move and yet nothing comes from his camp. He is the power behind the regime. He is supposedly the wealthiest person in Iran with Forbes saying he is one of the wealthiest in the world. With Iran looking at losing 2.2 billion Rial in exports to Italy alone, he understands the need to settle the protests agreeably.
A body of a 17 year old who disappeared a few days ago was found. It bears marks of torture. The horrors inflicted upon protesters continues.
However, just as the day ended, Bahman Farmanara, Iranian filmmaker released a letter. The heading: "We cannot remain silent." In the letter, he speaks about the frailty of his 68 year old body to torture and whatever else might be inflicted upon him.
"It is no longer important whether I will ever make another movie. But it is important that I do not dance to the official tune, for it is not honorable of me to do so at the age of 68. I am neither a hero, nor do I want to be one. "
And today, Iranian Tweets are up again even after finding out govt bots collected IP addresses. Iranians use proxies set up by hackers. More importantly, a legal protest was allowed in Tehran even though police clashed with some of the protesters. Apparently they were to protest inside the mosque only, so any protesters that spilled into the streets is fair game.
Now there are also reports that shouts from rooftops is louder than ever. And unconfirmed reports are that Rafsanjani now has enough support to remove Kohmeni. He states secret agents are creating a gap between the people and the system.
There are also reports of grandparents taking part in the protests. Iran students from abroad are flying back to Iran to join in the protests. It doesn't look like this revolution is over.
It has new life. To watch such courage and fearlessness is truly inspiring. I'm seeing the faces of my forefathers and those of Iran's in the faces of these protesters. What a difference a day makes. And the Tweets from Iran today: Its only just begun.

Excellent coverage on Iran. I see that you have been all over the story...
Deborah, I saw your comment on my exploding firecracker cake article, and came over to see what you have going on. Talk about being impressed! No wonder you got best new AC source! This reporting on the amazing situation in Iran is excellent and important and so well done. I'm glad I can count on you to keep us informed. God is shaking the world right now, and those who come out against Israel, or support splitting it even more will experience the worst shaking, as He takes His hand of protection away. My sister in law is Iranian, and I have a love for these people. I'm subscribing!
Great coverage. We had a local demonstration and I honked my car horn in solidarity, but that's such a small thing compared with the enormous sacrifices those people are making for some hope of freedom.
Deborah, your coverage of this whole affair has been outstanding. Thanks for keeping us well informed!
