Iran Upgrades Uranium; Possible Nuclear Weapons Brings Harsh Response from U.S.
Even Russia a Little Nervous
Nasser Karimi, an Associated Press writer, has written an article titled, "Defiant Iran accelerates nuclear program."
As a result of Iran's actions France and the United States are considering a fourth set of sanctions.
Iran denies that their goal is nuclear weaponry. I don't think they can be allowed to have one under any circumstances.
Iran has developed uranium to the point that they can run nuclear power plants.
They want the power to be provided by the West and then they will back off their work by a percentage. As usual they are being belligerent
While the United States, France, Germany and other European countries are concerned, not surprisingly China and Russia are dragging their feet. Russia is starting to change their position a bit.
China is pushing for more talks.
As I indicated the United States is threatening to take sanctions to a new level. This would be a fourth level of sanctions. Why do that? The first three sanctions have apparently not worked.
Iran is dangerous.
It has long been theorized that nuclear weapons in the hands of Super Powers are somewhat safe. The logic is that the countries all have something to lose.
On the other hand, a country like Iran has nothing to lose and everything to gain. They would have no problem trying to threaten many different countries.
It should be remembered as well that Iran is a country that is Muslim and often the attitude is that death leads to a happy ever-after. That is one reason that bombers are willing to do what they do.
I personally think that we have to be extremely tough. If Iran insists on following through then we will have to maintain an anti-nuclear presence their.
I often think about Vietnam when I read about situations like this.
Vietnam was moderate compared to this as far as a world threat. They did not have nuclear capabilities by a long shot.
This can't be allowed to happen.
