Iraqi Insurgents Warn of Terrorist Attacks on USA During Christmas Season

Julia Bodeeb
Will America face the horror of a terrorist attack again during this holiday season? It was just last year when a failed terrorist attack occurred on Christmas evening. Umar Farouk Abdulmatallab, the "undie bomber," attempted to blow up a flight over Detroit. Is it safe to fly on Christmas day?

Terrorism is a horrible new twist to the joy of the holidays. As the recent car bomb and suicide bomber in Sweden show, terrorists like to maximize the horror of attacks by setting them off during the bustling holiday season.

Warning of Al Qaeda Attacks

Al Qaeda insurgents captured in Iraq are now warning that the USA should expect holiday attacks by Al Qaeda, notes the Daily Mail. These insurgents claim their group took orders directly from the leadership of Al Qaeda. If these warnings are true, the American government must act quickly to try to prevent attacks. American intelligence agencies must be on very high alert for terrorism as Christmas approaches.

In 2001, Richard Reid attempted to explode a plane flying from Paris to Miami. The date of that failed bombing was Dec. 22, 2001. Thus, shortly after the attacks of 9/11, Al Qaeda was already attempting to create havoc during the holidays.

Afghanistan War Creating More Terrorists

As the war in Afghanistan continues, terrorists are very eager to attack the USA and its allies. While ending the war will not end terrorism, as long as the war goes on, terrorists are aflame with anger against the USA. The longer the war lasts, the more young men and perhaps young women too will be recruited into terrorism.

As Americans are forced to undergo ever more intrusive airport security measures, it is likely that the terrorists are working to develop new ways to beat any security system already in place. Al Qaeda has failed at most recent attacks, though. It seems they do not have the knowledge or the funding to achieve their evil goals.

The Iraqi insurgents have given an alarming warning to our country about possible terrorism. Thus it is important for everyone to keep their eyes open to any suspicious behavior and report it.

The daily saga of insane terrorists continue. All in the name of religion. Something's not right here.

I think they are just trying to humiliate us. The next attack will come from someone with something stuffed up his tailpipe, so then we'll have to respond by probing everybody as they go through security. Me, I'm going Greyhound.

I wish these people would fall off the face of the planet. I am tired of their ridiculous hatred and warped translation of Islam.
