On May 2nd, 2008 Marvel comics character Iron Man will finally be reaching the big screen. Directed by Jon Favreau (Zathura, Elf) and Written by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, Mark Fergus, Hawk Ostby, Iron Man is promised to be an exciting rollercoaster ride.

Director Jon Favreau has recently update info on the 2008 comic book flick.

"I just got back in town. The company has been on the road for many weeks. We started off in the mountains of Lone Pine which doubled for Afghanistan. We then moved to Edwards Air Force Base. We finally closed out the out of town work with Fontana, CA." says Favreau

"Let me confirm a few things: The movie will contain both the gray suit and the gold and red. The light you see in the photo on Robert's chest in the USA Today article is the chest piece glowing through his shirt. He is in captivity and forging the mask of the Mark 1. Both suits have been built practically by Winston Studios and are busily at work as we speak. We are exploring ideas for teaser trailers, though no date has been decided. We are planning to attend San Diego Comicon. Bridges is bald and plays Stane. The movie is on schedule and could not be going better." Favreau said.

Iron Man was first created in 1963 by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Don Heck and Larry Lieber. Iron Man possesses powered armor that gives him superhuman strength, virtual invulnerability, flight, and an array of weapons. The armor was invented and, with occasional short-term exceptions, worn by Tony Stark, an American industrialist billionaire and military contractor known not only for his lifestyle, but also for his incredible ingenuity and inventive genius.

The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges, Shaun Toub, Leslie Bibb and Bill Smitrovich. Downey is playing Tony Stark/Iron Man.
