Irrevocable Impact

C. Love
Every single action brings
Equal and opposite reactions
Erroneous moves resulting
In possible infractions
Everything touched or affected
DNA or fingerprints remain
Forever changed by impact
Nothing can stay the same
Each person you interact with
Retains unseen deposits
Stockpiling everything given
Building a composite
As each deed transpires
Redirecting the course
Good, bad or evil
Depending on the source
An encouraging word
Could lift somebody's day
A simple kind gesture
Chase depression away
Actions lived out
With malicious intent
Still produce a residue
A life lasting imprint
Each step leaving a footprint
Constructing history in fact
Endeavors forever lasting
Irrevocable impact

Great poem! It's the word "irrevocable" that resonates with me--you just can't take back an thought, action, or behavior. You can apologize or heal, but not revoke it. Thanks for publishing on AC.

Great work...made me think a whole lot about boundless connections and instances we have such little oversight of...

Very profound. Every action brings some form of reaction whether it's welcomed or not.
