I did seek medical help and they suggested and prescribed Paxil, which is an antidepressant. It did not help. I read everything I could find about my symptoms and spent hundred's of dollars in health food stores and for on-line supplements.
Let's just say after four years I was desperate for help. I have five children and a husband who needed me but I could hardly leave the house and if I did I would have to hurry back in case I had an episode. This problem was controlling my life and there was no cures, no help.
One day as I was praying and asking for help because I did not see how I could possibly keep going like I was, and this is what I feel that I heard,
"Hot lemon water."
I was not sure how drinking hot lemon water could possibly help, but I knew it could not hurt. The next time I was praying I heard,
"Fiber."
Again I had no idea how it would help but I knew I had to try them both.
In the morning I would have a cup of hot lemon water. I used whole lemons and cut them in half, having one half in the morning and the other half in the evening.
And through out the day I would add Benefiber to my water, yogurt and try to get at least 35grams of fiber a day.
These small additions have literally given me my life back.
I know they are not a cure and I still have occasional flare ups but nothing compared to being incapacitated like I was before.
So here's the deal buy a large bag of lemons and Benefiber use daily.
I would also suggest to limit eating out, especially buffets, they are disastrous for me.
Limit dairy, yeast, soda of any kind. These small changes will help too.
To help relieve stress try to do some kind of exercise every day. I am not comfortable with gym situations, so I try and use at home DVD's and walking.
Remember small steps in the right direction will get you to where you want to be.
