Lisa Kelly Goes It Alone with the Jet Fuel on IRT : Deadliest Roads, Season 1 Finale, Episode 10

At Manali, barrels of helicopter fuel need to be taken up the Rohtang Pass to a helipad. Rick starts the show already loaded with fuel, ahead of the other two. He's thinking of his upcoming job on Canada's ice roads. Yemm isn't happy because he can't smoke, which is stressing him out more in the traffic jam. For Lisa Kelly and Dave Redmon, some of the barrels are leaking on the wood of the truck beds, and Sanjeev is smoking in the cab of Redmon's truck until Lisa asks Dave to ask Sanjeev to stop. On the way up, the drivers coming the other way are over the center of the road, infuriating Redmon. Soon, a car sideswipes Dave's truck, creating an ensuing mob scene, but after a bunch of yapping, everyone goes on their way on the Season 1 Finale, Episode 10 of IRT : Deadliest Roads .

The three drivers slowly crawl up the pass, and are soon engulfed in fog. Wet roads have to be contested. Sanjeev is told to ask why only cars are coming down the hill and not going up, and a driver tells him that the road is closed. The drivers struggle in the midst of traffic to turn their trucks around. Coming back down, they encounter a traffic accident with injuries. The bad day ends at Manali, where the drivers decide what to do. Lisa Kelly stymies Redmon and Yemm by her offering to take the three loads to the helipad. The next day, Lisa has left with the fuel without even telling the other two drivers.

Lisa Kelly Outdoes Dave and Rick on IRT : Deadliest Roads, Season 1, Episode 10

Rick and Dave head back to Delhi and self-congratulate each other for braving the Indian roads, though they didn't fulfill the toughest challenge. Did the two "big, strong" drivers "chicken out" over the jet fuel despite braving the other challenges? Lisa has come to terms with taking on the challenges in India, and is comfortable with this most dangerous one. She gets the jet fuel to the rescue helicopters, and has a lot to be proud of, winning with nine loads hauled overall. It's not stated what happens to her companion dog.

Americans have reciprocal rights to driving in Bolivia, just as Bolivian drivers can drive in the US. I've been doing it for 44 years in Bolivia.

Sure, some things are dramatized, staged as you will, but they could have encountered much more traffic, much more fog, much more danger. I do.

Ice road truckers were in Alaska, Bolivia, then Peru, using mostly same drivers. Why would the Bolivian and Peru governments allow truckers from North America to drive on their roads? Peruvian and Bolivian drivers earn about 1/10th (estimate) of North American drivers. Answer: The show is staged to the max. Next, they (same "drivers") might go to the Philippines to "drive" there.

What a job, and to take the risk to earn a living. Thanks for review.

Thanks for the recap Roy. I don't always get to watch this, but it is usually guaranteed to be intense.

I couldn't stand to watch another episode of Lisa. The ending of this show was so staged that you would have to be an absolute moran not to know it. I have had it with Lisa saying "I would rather die doing something I love (like driving a truck), or I'm all about that" or how she is all up for the challenge. She should have been fired when she let Tashi go. Not only was she endangering her life but those of the public - that was a very stupid move. I'm sure if it weren't for it being on TV the trucking company would have fired her. I can't take another season of Lisa - If you want a woman truck driver, get one that can drive, mechanic and do everything herself, like the men do. What a dissapointment - hate to see her on IRT next season.

she could grab all the fuel as it was all staged. i mean why did each truck only have fuel only 1/3 of their capacity and then they came up with lame excuses for having to go back. it was planned from the start to let Lisa take the load as some kind of dramatic final which really wasn't.

ithink they are doing an awesome job but the way i see it u can only go so far i think lisa is trying to be a showoff

That is a good point, how did Lisa get all those barrels over on her truck. But at least she was the only one who cared about getting the jet fuel delivered there to help the people. Yes, I do think that Rick and Dave should be penalized on their pay for not completing the last delivery! You can tell that Rick used to work for Hugh because he is still a CRYBABY and only cares about himself. They all were supposed to stay together but when he got frustrated, he blew by Lisa on the road and left her. That just proves that Lisa would be a better trucker than him any day!
