Is Adam Lambert of American Idol the Re-incartion of Freddie Mercury of Queen?

American Idol made their usual sweep across America hosting thousands of auditions and culling them to close to a hundred singers always with hopes of finding a marketable want to be star. The producers have had some hit or miss years during their tenure as Fox Network's highest rated show on average. Kelly Clarkson has had considerable success with a talent that would seem to stick around and produce some very popular CDs with lucrative sales. Carrie Underwood also would fall in the same popularity category albeit limited to the Country genre.

Other lesser successes, they are successes though not winners of the show, Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson and Clay Aiken. David Cook is showing signs of acceptance within the Rock/Top 40 community as 2 singles have already dropped out of his inaugural CD.

I mention these other Idol favorites only as a barometer to the future recording career of Adam Lambert. I don't think there has been a more talented singer to have ever appeared on this 21st Century Amateur Hour. I know that so many of these singers have had attempts at success through recording contract signings or local area popularity or even some Broadway exposure. Adam Lambert's performance to date have been beyond remarkable and I find it amazing that a young man with a voice like his was out there to be scooped up in American Idol's nets. I always expected to see the Susan Boyle's of the world (the matronly British Idol entry) but never an Adam Lambert, who I consider to be just as talented as the late Freddie Mercury, ( front man and lead singer of the legendary British Rock band Queen).

The other talented contestants who are left to vocally flail at Lambert's hold onto the top rung of this year's AI could all be stars in their own right. They could all possibly have careers in the music industry equal to or exceeding that of current Idol Champion David Cook. Adam Lambert has the abilities to become a superstar, however, will he receive the proper guidance and promotion necessary to reach that plateau? I also wonder if his personality and ego will sustain the accolades that are sure to come his way. We all are aware of what became of legends like Freddie Mercury, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, et al. It is so very important that his Public Relations and Promotion handlers do not lose sight of Adam Lambert- the person as they attend to Adam Lambert- the Voice.

There is no doubt in my mind that Adam Lambert will be the largest jewel in American Idol's Crown of talent searching and achievements. This is not intended to lessen Kelly Clarkson's or Carrie Underwood's success by any means. It just means that Adam can and will be BIG with the right people behind him, I just hope that Simon Cowell and his label has those people in place to make it happen.
