Is America and the GOP Missing the Boat to a Brighter Future?

Ron Paul the Feared Candidate!

Deez
As I watched the GOP debate late night some things began to crystallize for me. I think the GOP is afraid to lose power through the election of Dr. Ron Paul! I think, they feel if they embrace Dr. Paul and he is elected, the Federal Government will shrink in size and power. Hence, the politicians will lose power and that, as far as they are concerned, can not be allowed. The GOP and their supporters (Media like "FOX," Special Interests, and the GOP themselves) feel Dr. Paul and the ideas he stands for threaten the status quo. So, they are going to employ any tactic they can to discredit and marginalize him in the public eye. In the GOP's effort to discredit and marginalize Ron Paul they are running the risk of discrediting and marginalizing themselves. They, in effect, are missing the boat to a Greater America.

While watching this presidential race, which has been going on for some time now, I came across a man by the name of Dr. Ron Paul. I had considered myself more of a free thinker Independent/Democrat type of guy with strong Union ties. I will admit, sometimes I would vote for someone just because my Union told me to but that was a rarity. I liked to look at politicians and their positions on the issues and then I would make up my own mind based on how much sense they made to me. It never failed, in the long run, I was always disappointed by these politicians . They rarely ever lived up to their campaign promises and sometimes just outright lied to us all. They flip flopped all over the place from issue to issue and that goes for both the GOP and the Dem's. Both parties are guilty of it to the extreme. To say I was left somewhat apathetical was an understatement. Then I discovered Ron Paul.

Just in case you don't know, these are the things Ron Paul stands for now, has in the past, and will in the future:

He has never voted to raise taxes.

He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.

He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.

He has never voted to raise congressional pay.

He has never taken a government-paid junket.

He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.

He voted against regulating the Internet.

He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.

He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

He has raised all the money for his campaign from the voting population that believes in him, not special interest groups.

He believes in the Constitution and doesn't want it changed to fit Washington's mood.

What more could any person want from a candidate? This man is "A MAN OF HIS WORD!" How refreshing is that to the American voting population? No wonder D.C. is so afraid of this guy. They (the powers that be) use tactics such as these to keep Ron Paul down:

They leave him out of debates, despite his popular support and strong showing.

They marginalize his text massage wins, that show the population at large thinks he won the debate, after every debate that he is allowed to participate in.

They try to tie him to the 9-11 truthers to make him look like a kook, instead of asking him questions of substance. Questions he can make any other candidate look ridiculous with in his answers.

They fail to really see his broad range of support across traditional political boundaries, or perhaps they do but don't want everyone else to see.

They paint him as being an isolationist, which couldn't be further from the truth, he wants to trade with just about every country on earth.

They try to say that he is a racist, despite his undying effort for personal liberty.

They never mention his stellar and consistent voting record.

They fail to let others see how much good he could do for our country.

They don't mention the fact that he raised more money last quarter than any other candidate.

They don't tell you that his money is raised by everyday people like you and I instead of special interest groups.

They fail to tell you that he has raised more money than any other candidate from our Military personnel.

In short, people don't let the powers that be and politics as usual ruin Americas bright future with Dr. Ron Paul at the helm. Don't let them tell you who to vote for, do the research, learn for yourself and then let them hear your voice. If you find out you like Dr. Paul and he doesn't make it on the ballot, right him in as your choice. It's a Revolution, don't miss out!

P.S. If you would like to leave comments that are contrary to what I've stated here, feel free. All I ask is that instead of throwing around unprovable allegations against Ron Paul, do your research and post proof with your negative statements. If you have done your research and agree with Ron Paul and his issues, please feel free to leave comments. Also, on Paul's web site he gives his positions issue by issue. You can find them on the links I have provided, but by all means look at other reputable places for information on Ron Paul, I think you will be impressed.

  • He has never voted to raise taxes.
  • He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
  • He voted against the Iraq war.
Fox received such a backlash for leaving Paul out of the last Forum they included him last night. Dr. Paul didn't include himself in the Hannity and Colms spin room. The text vote showed Ron Paul won the debate and it was dismissed by Fox.

You certainly have a way of twisting someones words around don't you? Maybe you should work for Fox News! LOL. Despite Paul's numbers being in third and fourth place at least he is beating the hell out of Thompson and Giuliani! And that just makes me smile a bit!

Well if that's what your argument is "It's not logical, but I like the guy" that's fine - as long as you're honest in the fact that you have no logical reason to support him, and if you base yourself in logic, fact, and reason, you wouldn't support him. That's fine - that's also why he polls in largely single and barely two digit numbers.

Whether or not any of this holds water can be debated till the cows come home and like I said before I don't know for sure if we where involved or not, hell I'm just a lowly Corrections Officer. However, if all this is true don't you think we have been meddling around in international affairs such as this way too long. Well, maybe you don't but I do! None of us will ever know for sure what our Government has been up to and that I can say with relative certainty. All I know is I have faith in Ron Paul and I believe in my heart he is an honest man. I know that's a poor argument logically speaking but there you have it. We all have to have some faith in our elected leaders don't we?

unaware that they were fighting the Soviet Army on behalf of Uncle Sam. While there were contacts at the upper levels of the intelligence hierarchy, Islamic rebel leaders in theater had no contacts with Washington or the CIA.

With CIA backing and the funneling of massive amounts of US military aid, the Pakistani ISI had developed into a "parallel structure wielding enormous power over all aspects of government". 8 The ISI had a staff composed of military and intelligence officers, bureaucrats, undercover agents and informers, estimated at 150,000.

Pakistan's ISI was used as a "go-between". The CIA covert support to the "jihad" operated indirectly through the Pakistani ISI, --i.e. the CIA did not channel its support directly to the Mujahideen. In other words, for these covert operations to be "successful", Washington was careful not to reveal the ultimate objective of the "jihad", which consisted in destroying the Soviet Union.

In the words of CIA's Milton Beardman "We didn't train Arabs". Yet according to Abdel Monam Saidali, of the Al-aram Center for Strategic Studies in Cairo, bin Laden and the "Afghan Arabs" had been imparted "with very sophisticated types of training that was allowed to them by the CIA"

CIA's Beardman confirmed, in this regard, that Osama bin Laden was not aware of the role he was playing on behalf of Washington. In the words of bin Laden (quoted by Beardman): "neither I, nor my brothers saw evidence of American help".

a charge denied by American and Pakistan intelligence officials and journalist Peter Bergen. Zbigniew Brzezinski, the National Security Advisor under President Carter, has discussed U.S. military involvement in Afghanistan in several magazines.
Roger Morris, writing in the Asia Times, states that in April 1978, the crackdown by the regime of Daoud on Afghanistan's small Communist Party provoked a successful coup by Communist Party loyalists in the army. The coup occurred in defiance of a skittish Moscow, which had stopped earlier coup plans.
According to Morris, by autumn 1978, an Islamic insurgency, armed and planned by the U.S., Pakistan, Iran and China, and soon to be actively supported, at Washington's prodding, by the Saudis and Egyptians, was fighting in eastern Afghanistan. U.S. planners continued funding the radical Islamic insurgency to "suck" the Russians into Afghanistan.

One of the American intelligence community's biggest operations and initially considered a major success was the funding of the Mujahedeen (Islamist fighters) in Afghanistan and their training, arming, and supplying. The program was initiated under Carter and greatly expanded following the Soviet intervention in Afghanistan in December 1979. Under Reagan funding reached levels of $600 million/year.
BBC News reported "Al-Qaeda, meaning the base, was created in 1989 as Soviet forces withdrew from Afghanistan and Osama Bin Laden and his colleagues began looking for new jihads. The organisation grew out of the network of Arab volunteers who had gone to Afghanistan in the 1980s to fight under the banner of Islam against Soviet Communism. During the anti-Soviet jihad Bin Laden and his fighters received American and Saudi funding. Some analysts believe Bin Laden himself had security training from the CIA."

Look I don't pretend to know all the intricate involvements our country and the CIA have and have had in the world but some interesting things have come to light. Thing like this article in CIA Activities by Region: Near East, North Africa, South and Southwest Asia
