There are many greedy people living worldwide. A lot of these people happen to live in America. Countless organizations are becoming wealthy at the common people's expense. The vast majority of people believe they are running their lives and that they are individuals when they are in fact being controlled by dishonest media sources and organizations. Believing most of what we are told, we do certain things that we believe might be for our well being but that is just not the case. Let's look at a couple examples:
Diet industries
Millions of people all over the nation try some amazing things to lose weight. Some try exercise machines that promise fast results, some try weight loss supplements so that they can "instantly" lose that extra belly fat, and some others try harmful surgeries to remedy the problem hastily. Many greedy companies and organizations knowing this, flood the market with unhealthy and damaging products that prey on the common people's desperate ambitions of a smaller frame.
Research any one of these diet foods to find harmful substances in their ingredient list. Research any of the "nip and tuck" methods to find that there are serious risks with such procedures. Research some of these exercise machines to find that some do more harm than good. Instead of the most basic advice of eating healthier and exercising properly, most Americans follow the advice of the people trying to scam them into buying their product. These greedy companies and organizations are hauling in billions of dollars annually, continuing to fill the market with so called weight loss ideas and products, while the American people suffer.
According to the weight control information network, about two-thirds of adult Americans are overweight and one-third of Americans are overweight. In the meantime, thousands of new weight loss products are debuting every year. In the land of the free, there are many malicious greedy people.
Healthcare and medicine
Many people get sick in this country. Most of these people rush to their doctor or pharmaceutical establishment for that quick fix for their illness because they don't have time to be sick. Healthcare and pharmaceutical companies take notice and try to shove every related drug or procedure in most people's faces. Not to be burdened by their sickness, most people pay insanely high costs to "cure" them of their ailment. Some people are even turned away with their inability to pay for such costs and to suffer the illness on their own.
There is a lot of money being made in the healthcare and pharmaceutical business. According to preventdisease.com, ten years ago in 1997, American health care costs topped $1 trillion. Despite the fact that healthcare companies were being paid handsomely, 16.1% or 43.4 million people, didn't have healthcare. By 2002, health care costs have topped $2.1 trillion. The irony is that more money is going into the pocket of the healthcare industry yet every year, more and more people are becoming sick. Preventable illnesses make up 80% of the illnesses documented in this country while they are amounting to 90% of the healthcare costs. Surprisingly however, eight of the nine leading categories of death are from preventable illnesses.
The country we live puts the idea of making money before a lot of other life aspects. While this may be good mentality with people who are trying to serve, it can create disastrous situations for America when greedy people who seek to deceive hold this mentality. There are thousands of people every year who seek to create financial abundance for themselves. Despite their intentions whether they have good ones are bad ones, they can make a future in this world. Hopefully it is a future heading towards grand service and not intentional harmful greed.
