Is Anderson Cooper a Justin Bieber Fan? We Find Out Just in Time for 2011

Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin definitely brought the crazy during their New Year's Eve show. But while Kathy Griffin didn't do anything to get herself fired, Anderson Cooper definitely had some unkind words for Justin Bieber.

Kathy Griffin just couldn't stop talking about Justin Bieber as she performed her hyper hosting duties, giving Anderson Cooper a serious case of the giggles all night long with her obnoxious behavior. Luckily, Kathy Griffin didn't end up leaving the stone-cold silver fox on his own by avoiding bad language, despite her profuse teasing of profanity (if she let an F-bomb or anything else unsavory slip this year, she was to be yanked right off the air). But Kathy Griffin did keep letting the B-word slip.

Kathy Griffin promised that Justin Bieber would be performing right before one commercial break, and CNN did have stars with legions of teen fans perform during the night (however, the Backstreet Boys' and New Kids on the Block's fans aren't exactly teens anymore; they likely have daughters of their own that are into Justin Bieber). Of course there was no Justin Bieber after the commercial break, and Kathy Griffin later also promised an appearance by Katy Perry (but even after being humiliated by a photo in which she's wearing no makeup, Katy Perry wouldn't lower herself to CNN's standards).

Kathy Griffin went to extremes to agitate CNN by again promising that Justin Bieber would make an appearance. She joked that Anderson Cooper was going to shave off his almost-as-famous locks, and Justin Bieber was going to sweep them up. She asked Anderson Cooper what his favorite Justin Bieber song was, and he admitted that he didn't know any of them, so Kathy Griffin sung "Baby" for him. Apparently Anderson Cooper wasn't impressed with the repetition of the word "Baby" over and over again, responding to Justin Bieber's lyrics by asking if that's really how the song went, and stating "That's pathetic".

And so it wasn't Kathy Griffin that really pushed CNN execs over the edge; Anderson Cooper's Justin Bieber diss likely ensured that the pint-sized pop star will never appear on the network's New Year's Eve show (that is until his hairline has receded and his fans have daughters of their own into the next big teen sensation).
