Is the Batman a Menace to Society?

Actor Christain Bale Faces Assault Allegations - by His Mother

Is Batman a menace to society? It seems he may be, as Batman has been reportedly been detained by London police in connection with an assault charge. All right, it was actually Christian Bale, the actor who played Batman in the smash hit movie, The Dark Knight, who was arrested. Fox News reports that Christian Bale has been arrested in connection with an assault charge lodged by his mother and sister. Eonline! reports that a press release from Christian Bale's lawyer stated that the actor "has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police." While this would seem to deny an arrest, he was released on bail with conditions that he appear to answer further questions at a future date. The alleged incident occurred the day before the premiere of The Dark Knight. Christian Bale attended The Dark Knight Premiere without incident, but was arrested on Tuesday. Christian Bale allegedly committed the assault against his mother and sister in a suite in London's Dorchester Hotel. The actor turned himself in to police in response to the charge lodged by his mum and sis.

Christian Bale a Successful Child Actor

The 34 year old actor has enjoyed a successful movie acting career since the age of 13 when he appeared in Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun. Even prior this, he had years of experience with stage and television roles. Until now, his private life, however, has not been characterized with the same childish behavior we see as many child stars grow up in the spotlight.

Curse of The Dark Knight?

The death of The Dark Knight villain, Heath Ledger, already has people buzzing about a curse on the movie. While this talk of a curse is obvious foolishness, it is quite possible that the death of a costar may have taken a psychological toll on the normally well-behaved Christian Bale. Fans can only hope this is an isolated incident or some misunderstanding. Following up on the success of The Dark Knight, Christian Bale is also slated to star in the upcoming continuation of the Terminator movie series, which is scheduled to open in May of 2009.
