The Beatles Mono Box Set Sells Out - What is the Mono Box Set?
I wrote about the Beatles Mono Box Set in a previous article here on Associated Content. The Beatles Mono Box Set is a collection of 10 CDs of the Beatle Albums that were recorded in mono, not stereo, ending with Magical Mystery Tour. There are also two mono mix CDs of songs that never made it onto the original 13 studio Beatles albums. In total, there are 12 CDs with 13 discs (The Beatles..aka The White Album.. is 2 CDs.) The CD's are made to look like mini versions of the original Beatles albums, including artwork and extras like the Sgt Pepper cut outs and The White Album poster and individual portraits of The Beatles. The going price is well over $200.
The Beatles Mono Box Set Sells Out - Only 10,000 copies??
It's hard to believe with all the Beatles fans in the world and the money that could be made Apple/EMI Records would only manufacture10,000 numbered copies of The Beatles Mono Box Set in the United States. The Fest for Beatles Fans alone gets a few thousand attendees to their yearly convention in the New York Metro Area every year. The fact is this '10,000 numbered sets' may only be rumor. The original press release on www.beatles.com dated April 7 2009 does not say The Beatles Mono Box Set will be limited 10,000 copies or any specific number for that matter. And Amazon.com does not mention the '10,000' figure in it's availability message regarding The Beatles Mono Box Set. And now a recent article on Examiner.com (dated 8-31-09) claims an EMI spokesperson told them the record company is working to produce more of The Beatles Mono Box Set.
No one is denying this is not a limited edition set, but any mention of a specific number of The Beatles Mono Box set being manufactured at this time cannot be confirmed by credible sources.

Now I'm singing Beatles songs in my head!
Great article. For myself, I don't really care how I listen to the Beatles as long as I get to listen to the Beatles.
I so want one of these.
Who are the Beatles? :P Thank you.
Great info :)
Very nice and informative article as you have eased my mind in the pursuit of what appears to be a very elusive set, I probably won't find it on the much anticipated 9/9/09 but I'm sure I will eventually find it as more are made.
