Computer usage is watched closer than you think. They probably monitor what websites you go to how often you visit these sites, and could watch your screen from a remote location to see every keystroke you make on the keyboard. Nothing is personal at work. Everything is available for them to see online. Even if you use a chat program from a website, this too can be monitored remotely. If you are using the computer at work you may not want to update your blog about your boss and him being a jerk or type anything that you don't want the company to know about.
Blogging - if you have a personal blog that you don't update or visit at work the company can still find out about it. If you talk about your boss or the company they do have ways to find out who owns the blog and it could cost you your job. This is especially true if you use full names in your blog.
Phone calls can be monitored from all lines in the company. There is software that will allow them to monitor all phone calls. So even if you think you are making a private call, it may not be all that private.
The ID card that allows you access to the building can be used to track your movements in the building. The computer chip in the ID card will run a report on where you used it at to gain access to different parts of the building, telling your boss where you were and for how long. It will also let them know how long you were on break if you went outside and used the card to come back in the building.
Inside cameras some may be in view some can be unseen. The last place I worked had many cameras inside. They said it was for safety reasons to see if anyone got inside the building that wasn't suppose to be inside. This never did make sense because to gain access to the building, you had to use your badge to get in. What the cameras really were for was to see where everyone was at during working hours. They do use cameras to monitor your activities.
Even if you delete your cookies and email on your computer all the time the employer still can have a copy of it on the server and able to pull it up at anytime. They are able to remotely access your computer and you may never know. Supervisors and managers may be able to log into your work programs and see personal messages you may have sent to a co-worker even though they have been long deleted.
While on the time clock, always be aware that someone is probably watching you.
