What is the importance of having car insurance?
For people who spent more hours in the road, it is important!!! When you have car insurance you have nothing to worry about draining your savings when you involved in a major car accident, so it's better to have car insurance or if you do not want it, it would be better to stay off the wheels.
What makes auto insurance expensive?
There are many reasons why car insurance premiums soared high, one of this is, with the aid of some of the unscrupulous person involved in the process of moving insurance claims, insurance company are having a hard time in proving what really the accident damage incurred during the accident against the vehicle damage that is there already before the accident, some consumers is claiming an existing or older vehicle damage on the accident claim, to make matter worst these claim also goes beyond the vehicle damage up to the bodily injuries of the person involved in an accident. This kind of fraud makes the insurance company to continuously increase premiums to make up for losses.
Another reason is that many people whom spent their time beyond the wheel doesn't have insurance, that's why for those people whom doesn't want to take a risk and protecting themselves from those uninsured driver, they are opt to get "uninsured motorist" coverage that cost them extra, which means that they are paying for some one else's insurance in terms of covering themselves from another driver's who is at fault during the accident. If only all drivers are insured then it is not necessary to cost people extra by getting "uninsured motorist" coverage, also uninsured driver do not contribute money to the insurance company but they can take a lot because the drivers liability coverage will pay for all the expenses they incurred resulted from the accident whenever they involved in an accident that the insured driver is at fault.
The insurance company is well aware of this fact that's why all of this extra cost is passed on to those who have insurance policies.

Post a CommentHi scottinMA,
Thanks for sharing your experience, yah your right, its mandatory, some may consider it a big problem thought the only advantage that we may get is when we involve in a major accident.
You are correct in associating insurance with risk. Whether it is important is a matter of opinion. The fact that it is mandatory is the real problem. Since I began driving, I have paid nearly $40,000 toward insurance, but have only received $3,600 in return over the same period of time. Why should I be forced to pay for something that is, and always will be, a losing gamble?
