Colon cleanses have been a successful method for a large number of individuals to cleanse and detoxify their bodies. Some colon cleanse products claim that the average person has anywhere from four to eight pounds of waste stored in their body.
The purpose of a colon cleanse is to expel the toxins out of the colon. Removing these toxins should result in a healthy immune system, better digestion, as well as flatten your tummy.
If you are you trying to lose weight, a colon cleanse or colon detox may interest you.
When researched, it has been found that most products claim to be gentle and easy. Some may restrict certain foods, while others are effective without restrictions. The length of time for cleanses to complete could be anywhere from three to five days, or as long as two weeks.
If you are wanting to lose a little weight for an upcoming event, such as a class reunion, or wedding you may want to use a "rapid colon cleanse," which is usually a liquid formula and can be completed in three to seven days.
A "rapid cleanse" may cause a drop of a few pounds quickly, but is possible that the weight will return in a short while. As with any weight loss plan you must be prepared to change the way you eat and add exercise to maintain a healthy weight.
With the variety of colon cleanse products available, the contents may vary, from herbs or other natural ingredients, to products which contain artificial ingredients. Therefore, always read the labels, especially if you have allergies.
As always, you should check with a health care professional before starting any program concerning your weight loss.
A colon cleanse may not be for everyone for various reasons. Persons with some intestinal problems, diverticulitis, or other bowel problems should consider some other method of losing weight.
There are diet pills, protein shakes, herbs, berries, and diet teas available, all claim to help you lose weight. Many diet manufactures advertise their product as an appetite suppressant, to control hunger, with added vitamins to boost your energy.
A large variety of colon cleanses, and detox formulas, as well as other weight loss products,
can be purchased at health food stores, vitamin shops, and retail stores.
Most of these weight loss products are safe and effective if you follow the product directions and add some exercise to your daily routine.
