Is a conversion experience necessary for Christians?

The Bible tells us that no one can be a Christian without going through the conversion process. If you have not had so, you are not a Christian. If you are a Christian, you have already converted. I call it a process because it does not happen over night, though it may, but over a period of time. As an adult has to go pass the teen time, a Christian must pass through conversion. You may realize it or you may not, but you must have the conversion.

Let us now look at what the Bible says:

Before we are a Christian

1. We are all sinners.

There is no one righteous, not even one - Rome 3:10

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God - Rome 3:23

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned his own way - Isaiah 53:6

2. The result of sin.

For the wages of sin is death - Rome 6:23

All sinners - their place will be in the fiery of burning sulfur - Revelation 21:8

3. Sinners can not help themselves.

All who rely on observing the law are under curse - Galatians 3:10

For who ever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of them

- James 2:10

4. Jesus is the only deliverer.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only one ...........have eternal life. - John 3:16

Who ever believes in him is not condemned - John 3:18

Who ever believes in the Son has eternal life - John 3:36

5. What has Jesus done for us?

Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows - Isaiah 53:45

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree - 1 Peter 2:24

6. Jesus is inviting all sinners

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest - Matthew 3:22

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock - Revelation 3:20

Come, who ever is thirsty, let him come...let him take the free gift of life - Revelation 22:17

Conversion process (All Christians must experience)

1. Accept that we are sinners

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned his own way - Isaiah 53:6

2. Believe in the Lord to be saved

"Believe" in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved - Acts 16:31

3. Confess

Who ever acknowledge me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in Heaven -

Matthew 10:32

If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from

dead, you will be saved - Rome 10:9

4. Repent

Let the wicked forsake his way .. turn to the Lord.... For He will freely pardon - Isaiah 55:7

Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sin - Acts 2:38

Christian life

1. Start a new life

Therefore if any one is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old has gone, the new has come - 2

Corinthians 5:17

We know that we have passed from death to life - 1 John 3:14

2. Pray

This then is how you should pray - Matthew 6:9

3. Bible studies

Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God - Matthew

4:4

4. Worship

Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs - Ephesians 5:19

5. Witness

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the

Son and of the Holy Spirit - Matthew 28:19

And you will be my witness in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth -

Acts 1:8

The Bible says, if you are a Christian, you are leading a praying, Bible studying, worshiping and witnessing life. If you are doing that, you must have been converted somewhere, sometime or somehow in your life earlier. A Christian who is saying that it is not necessary to have a conversion is like saying an adult does not have to go through the period of being a teenager.

Yes and definitely yes, a conversion experience is necessary for Christians.
