Is Demi Lovato Cutting Herself? Conflicting Reports
Only Demi Lovato knows the cause of those wrist marks, but one would have to hope that the talented teen is not cutting herself.
Demi Lovato Cutting?: Life and Career
Born in 1992, Demi Lovato is a native of Texas. She is the daughter of a former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader and a country recording artist. As she told Ellen DeGeneres once, Demi Lovato experienced cruel and incessant bullying in school. It was so bad that one day she asked her mother to home-school her.
Demi Lovato made her acting debut at age six on Barney and Friends. She currently stars in the Disney Channel Original Series Sonny With a Chance. She is best known for her role in Camp Rock. Demi Lovato is also a solo artist whose album Don't Forget debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Her second album comes out July 21.
Demi Lovato Cutting?: Public Figures
While public figures may enjoy fame, fortune, and high social status, young celebrities are not always immune to the stresses of adolescence. Perhaps this explains the success of cult movie Mean Girls, as everyone, regardless of social status, knows that on some level we never really escape the shark tank of high school.
Demi Lovato experienced bullying at school, as did Miley Cyrus. As a pre-teen, Candace Cameron was regularly taunted by classmates and shoved into lockers. She was also humiliated in front of her class when her teacher asked for her autograph.
The pressures of normal life may be even further aggravated when added to the pressures of celebrity status. Public figures such as Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie, and Amy Winehouse have documented cases of cutting and self-mutilation. Others such as Lindsay Lohan, Cassie Steele (of Degrassi), Christina Ricci, and Anna Paquin have also been suspected of cutting.
One of the most tragic cases of cutting was Princess Diana of Wales. Her biographer Andrew Morton described Princess Diana throwing herself at glass cabinets, slashing her wrists with a razor, and cutting herself with a lemon slicer.
If Demi Lovato is having trouble coping with the pressures of teen stardom, hopefully she is being surrounded by loving supporters who will help her deal with it in ways that do not involve cutting.

Lets just hope n' pray she isn't. But if she is, I know she'll be a smart girl and go get some help for it. I think if we really love the girl, then we should just let her deal with those personal problems on her owm. All this publicity about it, could be causing her to do it more if she really is.
Cutting is a serious problem, we may not always know what the case is but.. people have there reasons! Demi Lovatoa is a beautiful girl, with amazing talent, and a smart brain. She'll make it though this unsafe damage to her body

Note to anyone who doesn't think those are cutting scars: I have almost identical ones on my wrist. They're scars. Terrible scars.
I think she would probably hide her scars if she was cutting. seriously, nobody will want to show to public that they're cutting. I don't really like or dislike demi, but I hope she gets well if she's really cutting.

Even if she were cutting hereself, I highly doubt it would be for reasons like the stress of a new show. There are probably underlying problems that she's dealing with. Just because she's famous doesn't mean she doesn't deal with the same things a normal person would. You really should be less concerned about other people's problems.
She is not cutting. I cannot say that for sure, but look at all of the pictures. Edited possibly? Even if they are not, they are different every time. I don't know if it's just me, but I don't think scars can move and change their shapes. They are clearly not the same and they don't even look like scars. I believe her when she says she is not cutting. If she were, don't you think it would be somewhere a little less noticeable? Her wrists. Seriously? You guys must all be high if you think someone that is looked at and photographed 24/7 is going to do that on some place so viewable. If Demi is cutting, that is her choice. Everyone needs to just stay out of it and let her be. You can't make her not do it, so why bother knowing if she is or not? It's her life, and she can do with it whatever she wants. She is famous, she has everything that most people dream of, she is not a cutter. even if she is a cutter, it is a personal problem that is not any of yours. If you are so worried about her problems, then you should be paying more attention to your own problems.
