Just as Glee started filming season two (and shortly after their surprising "Best Comedy Series" Emmy loss), the cast was stung by their very first experiences with bad press. The first case stemmed from an off-hand remark that Matthew Morrison (Mr. Schuester) made a few months back when asked about the possibility of an all Britney Spears episode. He commented, "I really hope the show doesn't go in that direction."
This, of course, sparked outrage from the Britney-loving community (all 10 of them) but Glee creator Ryan Murphy expertly diffused the situation. First off, he wrote into the Britney episode that is set to air late in September a "taken-from-real life" fact about Mr. Schuester. Apparently during the episode it will be revealed that he too hates Ms. Spears music.
There is also rampant speculation that Mr. Murphy wrote in something to that episode's story line where Mr. Schuester shaves his head a la Ms. Spears during the height of her nervous breakdown drama. Either that or Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) shaves it for him.
This rumor stems from recent public appearances Matthew Morrison has made sporting a totally shaved head. It is either that or he had a very, very bad hair day. And we all know that isn't a possibility for Mr. Morrison unless the wardrobe department runs out of Jeri Curl.
Then another interesting tidbit was leaked from the set of Glee as it was busily shooting season two. Apparently Ryan Murphy made a steadfast rule that no one on the show was allowed to, um, fornicate with another member of the cast. No on-set romances during production? That's like Lindsey Lohan without the crazy.
Either Mr. Murphy's demand was highly prescient or he was aware of the goings on of his very young cast. Because not long after that Naya Rivera (who plays cheerleader/ice Queen Santana) was arrested for keying and dumping food all over Mark Salling's (he plays bully Noah Shalom "Puck" Puckerman) brand new Cadillac.
No, this wasn't just a prank as apparently Mark and Naya had been having a hot and heavy affair. When Naya found out that Mark was not being faithful to her, she did what any self-respecting lunatic would do and dumped the contents of a grocery store produce department on his new car. It is sort of understandable for a scorned woman to key a cheating man's car but really Naya, produce? What did it ever do to you?
Now, none of this really holds a candle to what must happen behind the scenes of Three and a Half Men considering the fact that "eternal friend to hookers" Charlie Sheen is the star. But these little cast flare-ups don't bode well for a drama free season at Glee. So pull your act together kids, none of us want your shenanigans to make season two of Glee suck worse than the pretty much any season of Two and a Half Men.

Post a Commentthat car keying crap is a lie. u didn't even get the car right, the rumor was that she keyed his Lexus. BUT then he tweeted "I don't even drive a Lexus". It's been denied by Mark, also, so don't spread blatant lies about people. There are plenty of interesting, TRUE things that are happening in the world.
