Is Education Really the Answer to the World's Problems?

An Examination from a Christian Perspective

Jared Moore
The Bible teaches that all truth is God's truth. God created this world; therefore, if it's true then God is responsible for it. Two plus two equals four, not because man discovered or invented this, but because God determined before the foundation of the world that two plus two would equal four. Christians must realize that all education is religious. Though the State believes it's not teaching from a religious perspective, it is actually teaching from an Anti-Christian perspective. To teach without the Creator God as the foundation, and to teach without His glory being the end goal, is to teach idolatry. Since this world is God's world, it can only be understood properly in light of Him. Because of this truth, the very foundation on which America's education is built on is separated from God. Christians must be aware and concerned with the foundation their children are being taught. Parents must be so concerned that it spurs them to action. We must respond!

With education being propagated across our nation as the solution to everything, from the government to school to the work place, and not being discussed in most local churches, it's no wonder why many Christians practice a Non-Christian worldview in this area. Non-Christians and Christians alike depend on the State to educate their children. Many parents are neglecting their God-given responsibility. The apostle Paul said in Ephesians 6:4, "And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." Fathers are to raise their children up in the Lord. This doesn't simply mean having devotions together. Every single subject, Math, English, World Geography, etc. must be taught beginning with Creator God and ending with His glory. If Christian parents are going to send their children to be educated by a State which possesses and teaches an Anti-Christian worldview, then they must take the responsibility to continually re-educate their children the Christian worldview when they return home. We must pass on the commandments of God to the next generation. If Satan's worldview is overturned in our homes, and our churches begin teaching our parents to be "salt and light" and Christians begin consistently thinking as the Redeemed in all areas of life, then there's no imagining the blessings that God will pour out on His children; and as a result, America. We must not rest until all peoples run to Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
