Is Your Face Fat?

Rita Jan
Are you tired of your double chin and pudgy face? Would you like to look like the athletic girls and guys, who have well-sculpted face, jaw and neck? You have come to the right place.

Why faces get fat. When the body retains fat, it spreads it out evenly over the entire system. Certain parts of the body, such as the face and neck and ankles, can only hold so much fat, so when they reach their limit, the extra fat is added on to the back, belly, torso, bottom, arms and legs. Different people gain weight in different areas of their body first, but eventually the fat is spread out to cover everything evenly. The fat in your face is not due to simply having fat there. It is due to there being a large layer of fat over the entire body.

How faces retain fat. Remember that fat is spread over the entire body, including the face, first and then it develops in extraneous amounts around the torso. Getting rid of fat in your body will not automatically make the fat in your face go away. First, the extraneous fat on the torso will leave. Then, little by little, the body-wide layer of fat will decrease, decreasing the face and neck fat along with it. As you work out or do the Atkins' diet or whatever you are doing to get rid of your fat, remember that the body is constantly redistributing fat. This means that one day you may have less fat in one place, but then the next day you seem to have gained a little of it back. This does not mean that you have gained weight, but that the fat was redistributed evenly. Cardio workouts tend to be of help at this stage, because they work off the fat in all areas all at once, so that you do not have to be discouraged by any redistribution.

Building facial and skeletal muscles. At the top and back of your head, imagine a corner, like a corner from two walls, joining the top of your head and the back of your head. Imagine this corner setting the position of your entire body. Your body does not slump forward and your head does not lean back or forward, but everything is in a straight line. Many people think of sitting up tall, but this only involves straightening out your spine. Imagining being pulled up and into alignment by this corner will help you to keep your head, neck and shoulders properly aligned with each other as well. This lineage will help to build proper facial contours which look the most attractive on you.

Taking care of your facial tissues. After you are thin and in line, it is good to properly treat your tissue and skin. While many people feel that massaging or pulling the tissue of the face around too much can help the skin to sag, this is incorrect. Consider the elderly. They are only wrinkly where they move the least and have the least stimulation, such as the face, neck and hands. Their bodies are still smooth and supple. Instead of making your face a special case, treating your face similarly to the way you treat your body will actually help it stay in shape.

Nobody likes facial fat. It is unattractive and frequently it hides the original beauty because it infuses skeletal structure with puffiness which should not be there. Since the body distributes fat evenly, the less fat on your body, the less fat on your face. Skeletal positioning and realignment will keep proper facial muscles built to emphasize your natural good looks.
