Is Fort Greene Park Safe?

I've already judged, but you judge how safe Fort Greene Park is these days:

On September 14, in broad daylight at 5:30 pm, a gang of 12 teenagers came upon a man in the park and proceed to beat him and steal his wallet. Less heinous, but still a crime, later that evening another man had his backpack stolen from a park bench.

Back to violent crime: A couple were enjoying each others company near the Prison Ship's Martyr Monument when two men put a gun in their faces and robbed them. Fortunate for them their outcome wasn't like the teen who was randomly shot in the arm in the heart of the park back in June of this year.

As if that weren't enough violent crime, on September 28, again in broad daylight, at about 2:30 pm, a man was simply sitting on a park bench near DeKalb Avenue, when four cowards appeared and beat him to the ground, both punching him and kicking him, and then took his wallet and blackberry.

And this isn't the half of it; just in the month of September several more robberies have take place in Fort Greene Park. Having heard this, how safe would you feel walking through the park...in the daytime?
