A portion of the statement on the Parents Television Council's website reads: "It is disturbing that GQ, which is explicitly written for adult men, is sexualizing the actresses who play high school-aged characters on "Glee" in this way. It borders on pedophilia."
A look around the PTC website shows that they rate "Glee" as "not recommended for viewers under 16". This also isn't the first time they've slammed the top-rated FOX show. The PTC recently lambasted the "Glee" producers for the "Britney/Brittany" episode, calling it an "endorsement of narcotics abuse, public masturbation and school-sanctioned burlesque."
Meanwhile, Dianna Agron, "Glee's" head Cheerio Quinn, has sounded off about the Parents Television Council's "pedophilia" rant over GQ Magazine's "Glee" cover. On her blog, Agron says "If you are hurt or these photos make you uncomfortable, it was never our intention."
In Agron's blog post, she stated that she was speaking only for herself and not for her co-stars. Dianna later tells those who would criticize the photo shoot and the over-exposure to adult content in general "there are parental locks and ways to get around this."
It is apparent that the Parents Television Council has a new target in "Glee". This show appears on a network that is known for pushing the limits - perhaps it's the FOX that is the bigger target. Several hit FOX shows have appeared on the PTC "Worst Shows of the Week" including "24", "American Idol" and "The Cleveland Show".
The PTC is relentless when they choose to target a show as "unsuitable". In a recent example, the Parents Television Council is still pursuing an episode of "NYPD Blue" that aired February 25, 2003. The most recent filing in that case with the Second Circuit Court of Appeals was in August, 2010.
It will be interesting to see how the Parents Television Council rates the upcoming "Rocky Horror Glee Show".

I can't WAIT for the "Glee" Rocky Horror show. Uh, I guess I don't care what the PTC says. My kids don't watch "Glee" OR read GQ magazine. ;)
