Is Glen Beck the Antichrist?

J.A. McLynne
Glen Beck took center stage at the Restoring Honor Rally at the nation's Capitol. For three days, the Internet oozed out story after story about Glen Beck's ideas, political leanings, whether he is a Nazi, or not a Nazi. It seems like everyone with something to say was making their opinions know on Glen Beck through forums, Internet chat rooms, and article comments.

Glen Beck Takes Control of the Media - for one day
Searches for information about Glen Beck and his rally went through the roof at Google, and stayed there for several days. His image was not only pasted on Fox News, but also on CNN. CNN also ran live feed of his rally on their Internet sites, somewhat of a surprise, since they are a direct competitor to Fox News. One image showed Glen Beck with his arms raised high in triumph as he stood before the throngs of people. Winning over souls of the faithful perhaps?

The Bible says the the Antichrist will be a great deceiver. The Antichrist will make great promises of restoration but will fail to provide the redemption of sin, leaving Man eternally separated from God. The Antichrist may even quote the Bible while trying to win souls for his cause.

The Antichrist will even start to follow through on some of his promise making great strides for humanity, improving living conditions, helping man overcome his failings. The Anti-Christ will burst onto the scene, seemingly from out of nowhere, and he will take control. The spirit of Satan will then be indwelt into the body of the Antichrist and he will use supernatural powers to control Man and lead the population into eternal damnation.

Throughout history there have been many interpretations on who the Antichrist is, how he (or she?) will appear and what methods will be undertaken to undermine the work of God.

A popular contemporary interpretation of the Bible shows that the Anti-Christ will be a master of the media. These interpretations have bled through the Left Behind series of books by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. In their interpretation of the Bible, the Antichrist will be able to influence the largest media outlets to carry his message, in print, television, radio, on the Internet, as well as in person. Even competing news outlets will carry the same message, gushing over every word that users forth out of his mouth. According to LaHaye and Jenkins, the majority of viewers and listeners will soak up his message like a sponge and strive to make others believers.
Then, according to LaHaye and Jenkins, the Antichrist will make a leap into politics.

So ask yourself, is Glen Beck the Anti-Christ?

It must be kept in mind that extra-Scriptural tradition furnishes us no revealed supplement to the Biblical data concerning Antichrist. While these latter are sufficient to make the believer recognize the "man of sin" at the time of his coming, the lack of any additional reliable revelation should put us on our guard against the daydreams of the Irvingites, the Mormons, and other recent proclaimers of new revelations. New Advant online Catholic Encyclopedia
Beck only talks about God not Christ. Morman dissenters claimed that Smith had become the Anti-Christ in 1834 when he changed the church's name from " Church of Christ " to " Church of Latter Day Saints ," deleting the name of Jesus. Maybe they were off by a few years.

Some in our Church believe that Glen Beck is the Anti-Christ after this 8/28 "Religious" event. He fits the scripture. He presented himself as a Religious figure while Obama presents himself as not religious at all.
Beck claims that God is giving him a plan to share with mankind at 8/28 rally. According to the Book of Revelations the anti-christ will be a man, in his 40s, of Irvingites (Mormon) desent who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a massive Christ-like appeal. The prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace.
The individual person of Antichrist will not be a demon, as some of the ancient writers believed; nor will he be the person of the devil incarnated in the human nature of Antichrist. He will he a human person, perhaps of Jewish extraction, if the explanation of Genesis 49:17, together with that of Dan's omission in the catalogue of the tribes, as found in the Apocalypse, be correct. It must be

yeah, um, Beck has been around for years. I was listening to his radio show back in '05. He didn't come out of nowhere. And to say that anyone who develops a large following is the antichrist means that Martin Luther King Jr. and Billy Graham are also suspect. But don't let facts get in the way of your views.

to anti beck, people like you are the sign, (ever learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth), of the times....if you want Satan or the anti-christ, look no further than Obama....however, he is not the anti-christ either.

Beck = Satan, but he thinks he's the Messiah. He is a hater and one of the reasons the people of the world are laughing at America.

Glen Beck has made it very plain that he is the least of sinners and points to Jesus Christ as the creator and savior of mankind. I was going to say if someone would just listen to what he says instead of listening to what other people say, thay may get it. But that wouldn't work eithier because if a person does not have Christ in their heart they can not discern spiritual truths. That is why when Glenn Beck looks to the Word of God for discernment and gives his ideas about the world condition people think he is a nut case. God's way is beyound human comprehension. If we know Christ he will give us discernment and then it make's perfect sense. If we know not Christ it is all wacky.
