Is God Concerned About the Environment?

Ecology. Is it a new movement with it's beginnings in the latter part of the 20^th Century, or is the Green Movement really a perverted imitation of what was originally a mandate by the Creator of the universe?

When those who profess to follow the God of the Bible refuse to do what HE said to do the adversary, Satan, always inspires a counterfeit designed to move people farther away from the Creator with an ungodly emphasis on the creation.

In the beginning our Creator gave man dominion over the earth. Yahweh meant for man to cultivate and protect the earth and derive his sustenance from it. But like every other command of the Creator man has decided to selfishly do what seems right in his own eyes. I've heard people say, "Well it's all going to burn anyway! Why should I be concerned about it?" I can answer that very clearly from the Word of God. Revelation Chapter 11 tells us that our Creator will destroy those who destroy the earth!

The deceiver always uses the rebellion and unbelief of those who profess to follow Yahweh to cause delusion to come upon those whose hearts yearn for the justice that is inherent in creation. Most self described conservative Christians are so busy about creating a kingdom here on earth that looks just like the successful suburban life they are leading, or want to lead, that they fail to realize that faithfulness, justice and mercy are the "weightier matters" of the Torah that are overlooked. Instead the focus is on things that only matter when the "weightier matters" are given first attention.

I'm 55 years old and I lived through some pretty big and fast shifts in society. I was born in 1955, at a time when everyone wanted to be Ozzie and Harriet, or Ward and June Cleaver. It was set forth as the ideal. But it was a lie. Most people's lives fell far short. The 60's came along and exposed that. The lack of love and regard for mankind and the planet was evident and men, in the sway of the enemy, came along and filled the void. The professing church was too busy building great cathedrals and elevating men, and the words of men, above the Creator and HIS Torah. It is still happening today.

The hippy, love generation of the 60's gave the illusion that it was reaching new heights in regard for brotherhood and care for the environment. In it was the beginnings of the peace movement, and Greenpeace and all the different manifestations of the delusion of the enemy that came from that. What has been the net result of it, looking back on it over the past 50 years? It has accomplished the very opposite of what it was said it would do. Instead of man loving one another more, and lifting humankind out of poverty and wars and hatred, we are a more selfish people than ever before. Wars, death, poverty and hunger have increased exponentially and the environment is certainly no better. It is precisely because the enemy never meant anything from his instigation of these lying movements other than to further his plan to destroy the creation of the Creator.

It is high time that the sleeping bride awakens to the Truth and begin to care for his fellow man and the earth that was created for us to live upon and maintain? The Torah of the Living God is real love. The devil has inspired a counterfeit that is a love of self. There is no godly love for mankind or the planet HE created. I pray that we all, who call ourselves "Christian" begin to live like Christians should. We are to walk like the Messiah (1^st John 2), who is God, who is our Creator (John 1, Colossians 1). HE has high regard for HIS creation; mankind, the planet, and the creatures HE created to live on it. We all have our role in creation, from man to animal, and plant life. M was placed at the topo as stewards over it, under the clear Instruction of the Creator. We will be held accountable for our rejection of HIS commandments to accomplish this.

The commandments, given by our Creator, beginning in Genesis, are how we are to accomplish loving HIM, loving one another, and being godly stewards over this planet and all that is on it. It's time to repent from our own ways and look at HIS Instruction and follow HIM. In so doing we will accurately represent HIM to a world that needs to return to HIM.
