Is God Supernaturally Involved in People's Lives Today?

Do Christians See Other Miracles in Addition to Salvation?

JimLow
It is my belief that God works actively in people's lives every single day that passes in our time realm, both Christians and non-believers (he knocks at the heart's-door of non-believers). Some Christians will attest to it in a general sense but they don't often relate specific stories like I have in books and articles I have written.

I spoke face-to-face with a man who was in the final stages of brain cancer, back in the late 1980s, whom God miraculously healed and for lack of a better term, my stories pale in comparison to that type of story. He actually carried his MRIs around when he gave his testimony at different churches he was guest-speaker at. I also have a friend who is half Apache Indian who drowned in a lake when he and I were teenagers and I was the one who pulled him to the shore. He didn't relate to me until 30 years later that he died that day and was listening to indescribably beautiful music, unlike anything we have here on earth, as he approached Heaven (which appeared as light to him). I actually watched as he took in a breath and water gushed literally three feet from his mouth as he came back to life. Needless to say he is a born again believer in Jesus Christ today.

I recently watched Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort (of "The Masters Way" T.V. evangelism program) debate evolutionists in a video series on YouTube and they did a fantastic job in my opinion and they were respectful while doing so. One thing I noticed however is that most people, when witnessing about God's blessings in their lives, usually restrict their testimonies to their salvation experience (Born again: John 3:7 - Becoming a new creature in Christ: 2 Corinthians 5:17). That absolutely is the most wonderful miracle of all of course and God's greatest blessing to 'willing mankind' but people who don't know God honestly wonder if he is involved in their lives during their natural time on earth. Christians act as if they are afraid of the 'sensationalism' tag or of being pegged as crazy, if they relate things they have witnessed God perform supernaturally in their lives. They also know that some people will not believe them, should they do so.

I will admit there is sometimes a timing involved in relating these things and "anytime" is not always "the best time" to share these miraculous type things, with every person you become acquainted with. I also think that when the attitude arises that says we should never share these type stories, I think by doing that, Christians unintentionally leave the impression that you're pretty much on your own in this life once you've received salvation, when in-reality, God is as active in our lives as we continue to allow him to be.

For those who prefer a gentle guidance as the Holy Spirit leads them, this is what God blesses them with. Other Christians however, are open to what the scriptures refer-to as the "gifts (and callings) of the Spirit" (I Corinthians 12 and Ephesians 4) that have the outward supernatural elements to them. Either way, one Christian's walk is not necessarily closer to God than the other just because they have experiencing something supernatural apart from salvation, in fact some people who at times operate in supernatural gifts, can have less of a prayer life than do those who walk with God by that gentle leading of the Holy Spirit. The gifts of the Spirit are by grace, just as salvation is (the greatest gift of the Holy Spirit) and the fact that a Christian might experience them, does not make them more spiritual than is a Christian who never once operates in an outward supernatural gift, during their natural lives.

I don't believe now and I have never believed that witnessing supernatural things is what saves people but it can position them, so that that they are more receptive to the Gospel message. A scripture in Hebrews goes with this thought.

QUOTE: "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?" (Heb 2:3-4)

I will be adding articles, relating supernatural experiences I have had as a Christian, so look for those by browsing my articles list, here> JimLow

  • Becoming "a new creature in Christ" is the greatest miracle.
  • God continues to work supernaturally in people's lives following salvation.
  • Some Christians see more supernatural things than do others but God loves each one the same.
Some Christians are afraid of being accused of "sensationalism", should they relate to others about supernatural experiences they have had as born again believers in Christ.
