Is the Good Antichrist the Son of Satan?

Neron Kesar
I have cited the entire chapters of Hebrews 1 and 2, Psalm 45, and Matthew 22, which are relevant to this question. Please take the time to read these passages. My comments follow.

The quick answer to this question is, No, because angels are unable to produce life.

HEBREWS 1:

[1] God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
[2] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
[3] Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
[4] Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
[5] For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
[6] And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
[7] And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
[8] But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
[9] Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
[10] And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
[11] They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
[12] And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
[13] But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
[14] Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

HEBREWS 2:

[1] Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
[2] For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
[3] How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
[4] God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
[5] For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.
[6] But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?
[7] Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:
[8] Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
[9] But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
[10] For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
[11] For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
[12] Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
[13] And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
[14] Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
[15] And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
[16] For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
[17] Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
[18] For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

It's worth noting that Hebrews 1:7, 8 is drawn from Psalm 45:6, 7. The "Daughter of Tyre" in Psalm 45:12ff may pre-figure the Antichrist in his feminine aspect. She is featured bearing a gift to the Great King and adorning His Queen with the choicest garments OF HER OWN HANDIWORK. See my additional comments below. The entire chapter of Psalm 45 reads as follows:

[1] My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
[2] Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.
[3] Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.
[4] And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.
[5] Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.
[6] Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
[7] Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
[8] All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.
[9] Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.
[10] Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;
[11] So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.
[12] And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.
[13] The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.
[14] She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.
[15] With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace.
[16] Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.
[17] I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.

Psalm 45:12-17 should be studied further because it predicts an event yet future, connecting this important event with the establishment of God's eternal throne. Amidst the prophecies of judgment to befall Tyre, there are unmistakable signs of promise!

As suggested, the "Daughter of Tyre" may pre-figure the Antichrist in his feminine aspect. The Antichrist is androgenous; i.e. both male and female. This biblical fact eliminates nearly every candidate for the office and severely narrows the field of speculation. See my brief study, "The Antichrist is a son; the Antichrist is a daughter." at:

The "Daughter of Tyre" metaphor is supported by the reference to Tyre in Matthew 11:20-24 in which Jesus upbraided the non-repentant cities. These "upbraiding" sayings of Jesus are coupled in Matthew 11 with prophecies of "The Other" or "The Least in the Kingdom" likely because they provide clues to his nature or identity.

According to Easton's Bible Dictionary, Tyre was the name of an ancient Phoenician city known for its commerce. Representative saleable goods from throughout the whole world were gathered into the warehouses of Tyre.

"Tyrian merchants," Easton's notes, "were the first who ventured to navigate the Mediterranean waters[.]" "The purple dye of Tyre had a worldwide celebrity on account of the durability of its beautiful tints, and its manufacture proved a source of abundant wealth to the inhabitants of that city."

Purple was expensive and emblematic of imperial royalty.

Tyre and its sister city, Sidon hosted various sorts of commercial crafts, including glass blowing, dyeing and weaving, and engraving. 2 Chronicles 2, especially verses 7 and 14.

In the time of David a friendly alliance was entered into between the Hebrews and the Tyrians. 2 Samuel 5:11; 1 Kings 5:1; 2 Chronicles 2:3.

Moral and religious decline followed Tyre's commercial success. The wickedness and idolatry of Tyre are frequently denounced by the prophets, and its final destruction predicted. Isaiah 23:1; Jeremiah 25:22; Ezekiel 26; 28:1-19; Amos 1:9,10; Zechariah 9:2-4.

MATTHEW 22:

[1] And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,
[2] The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
[3] And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
[4] Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
[5] But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
[6] And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
[7] But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
[8] Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
[9] Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
[10] So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
[11] And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
[12] And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
[13] Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
[14] For many are called, but few are chosen.
[15] Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.
[16] And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
[17] Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
[18] But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
[19] Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
[20] And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
[21] They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
[22] When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.
[23] The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
[24] Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
[25] Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
[26] Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
[27] And last of all the woman died also.
[28] Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
[29] Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
[30] For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
[31] But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
[32] I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
[33] And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.
[34] But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.
[35] Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
[36] Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
[37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
[38] This is the first and great commandment.
[39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
[40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
[41] While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
[42] Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.
[43] He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
[44] The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
[45] If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
[46] And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

COMMENTS:

According to the Book of Hebrews, God communicates through His prophets, by implication through His angels, and finally through His Son.

We are told that the Apocalypse was mediated through an angel. Revelation 1:1. Notice in verse 10 of chapter 19, the Apostle's deportment toward this angel messenger: "And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

The Book of Hebrews contrasts the standing of the angels with that of the Son. The Son is begotten by God and an inheritor of the promises. The Son is so much greater than the angels; subsequently, what the Son has to say has so much greater authority.

The reader is invited to ponder, "[I]f the word spoken by angels was stedfast, . . . How shall we escape, if we neglect [the message of] so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed . . . both with signs and wonders[?]" Hebrews 2:2-4.

Is the Antichrist the Son of Satan? No. Angels are unable to produce life.

What is the more important question for our times? The same issue that confronted the New Testament Jews: The subject of "Christ". His character, the nature of his mission, and his number.

History is repeating. The Jews are being given a second chance.

In the same spirit as those detractors who in Matthew 22 sought to entangle Jesus in His words, so today we must resist the temptation to engage in superfluous debates that draw attention away from the overriding, imminent duty of proclaiming the gospel: "Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand".

AFTERWORD

The "Roadmap to Peace" in the Middle East is the Bible, not a diplomatic or political plan. The only hope for the future of the Jews and Israel; the future of all the Abrahamic faiths, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam; the integrity of God's Word, and finally the integrity of God Himself: is not a plan, but a Person with a plan, the LIVING Christ.

    Good academic material. The Old Testament is so fascinating. And the Gospels too, of course.
