Is Gov. John R. Kaisch Wearing the Wrong "Hat" as He Governs?
Business Metrics Vs. Equal Opportunity and Favoring Pennsylvania Over Ohio is Not Part of Governor's Job
Just for everyone's information here are the duties of Ohio's Governor we elect.. The following is an excerpt for Ohio Legislative Service Commission by Terry Steele, Budget Analyst which describes the Duties and Responsibilities of the Office of Governor. According to Ohio Legislative Service Commission ; LSC Final Fiscal AnalysesTerry Steele, Budget Analyst http://www.lsc.state.oh.us/fiscal/fiscalanalysis/126ga/gov.pdf
OVERVIEW of Governor Duties and Responsibilities:
The Office of the Governor (GOV) oversees the operations of state government. Under the OhioConstitution, the Governor is the chief executive officer of the state and is elected to four-year terms. The major duties of the Governor include:
• Formulating and implementing administrative policy for state agencies;
• Ensuring the faithful execution of Ohio's laws;
• Submitting biennial capital and operating budgets;
• Appointing judges, certain agency officials, and board and commission members; and
• Serving as commander-in-chief of the Ohio National Guard.
There seems to be something equal and fair missing for Ohio citizens because our new Gov. Kaisch current practice of mislabelling and dismissing "race and age" as business analyst instead of as protected classes for equality for all People. Our Bill of Rights, Constitutional laws of equality in government and throughout all phases of life in Ohio. Additionally, our concerns are that since one of his major duties is "ensuring the faithful execution of Ohio Laws "that your "old hats" of residence and employment are getting in the way of your" overseeing the operations of our state of Ohio government in a fair and open minded manner. " Perhaps someone should have given him a hat that says, "Welcome to Ohio" when things get tough for you this first year in office as you attempt to learn your duties and responsibilities.
Furthermore there are also concerns about his commitment to ,"equality for all people",as he forms new laws, hires gov. Staff, and lives up to what he got hired to do. One example would be following on his Blog;"Today Jan. 17, 2011 Gov. Kaisch reports at 11:59am on his Blog the following: John Kasich: Martin Luther King, Jr. is an Inspiration
"That Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is one of the most influential Americans ever is beyond dispute. His legacy is helping transform the ideas of our Founders-equality for all people-into a reality that we strive to make ever more real day-by-day." Blob John Kasich
Although Gov. Kaisch appears to believe in the honourable Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s founding of equality for all people he continues to think of "race and age" and all those protected classes as " business metrics". Has he changed from his "Grassroots" approach when campaigning to "Metrics" systems analyst as our Governor? Perhaps this seemingly change of approach is because he was at Lehman Brothers from 2001-2008 as an investment banker: until it's collapse and is now favouring Pennsylvania's interests over Ohio's.
How does his experience as an "investment banker" equate " to Gov. Of Ohio as a hiring manager? Is he using business metrics that he defines as "race and age" rather than our Bill of Rights or Constitution as a hiring practice because his focus is just analyzing not governing? Gov. Kasich's valid long term record of offices held in Ohio; Senate for 3 years, the House of Representives for 18 years and now one week as Ohio Governor would appear ever changing dialogues. There are significant differences between equality in hiring practices and analyzing banking investiments with metrics.
. Which hat is our new Governor using for hiring practices to create a "business culture" rather than," a governing fair and equal culture? Perhaps some redefinition is necessary in order for all of us to understand this dilemma of redefining and interchanging business culture with constitutional culture terminology that demeans humans to numbers.
According to SearchCRM.com Definitions (Powered by WhatIs.com) business metrics is a form of analytics defined as A business metric is any type of measurement used to gauge some quantifiable component of a company's performance, such as return on investment (ROI), employee and customer churn rates, revenues, EBITDA, and so on. Business metrics are part of the broad area of business intelligence, which comprises a wide variety of applications and technologies for gathering, storing, analyzing, and providing access to data to help enterprise users make better business decisions. "
Perhaps Gov. Kaisch can switch hats to being our new Governor of Ohio not Pennsylvania and implement equality in hiring if he follows Dr. Martin Luther King's lifelong promise for equality for all people." Additionally our Governor must take his own advice written in his new book;"Every Other Monday", Twenty Years of Life, Lunch, Faith, and Friendship. published by Simon and Schuster. This book is based on his group of friends and their discussions of "major themes from the "Bible" that might be used in our daily lives as a template for reconsidering how we make everyday choices as well as life changing decisions." John R. Kaisch, Simon and Schuster.
It's our honorable Rev. Martin Luther King's birthday so it's time for Gov. Kaisch to wear the right "hat" as Gov. And remember "race and age" are not metrics but human beings.
