Is the iPod the Best MP3 Player to Buy?

Marketing Lesson 101: Don't Listen to Your Predisposed-to-Flashy-Commericals Teenager Who Only Knows One Word - "iPod"

She did get one thing right, I don't know anything about today's music gadgets. I should have done my homework before purchasing her that white, teenie ipod. By the way for those of us from the LP generation, an ipod, MP3 are portable audio music devices that store music. It still amazes me that such a tiny thing can hold so much stuff, like music, photos, videos etc.

I thought I was hip by listening to my collection of CDs on my stereo and car CD player. But, the day came when I had to do some research about these portable music devices. My Cd stereo quit and storing all those shiny discs was a pain. What to do? Fix the CD player and probably get over-charged or do some investigating. I am fortunate enough to have a computer with Internet access, eye sight that permits me to see the computer screen and typing skills to maneuver my way through the virtual world. Now, what key words to use so I don't spend all day searching and succeed in getting lower back and shoulder aches. I tried portable digital audio devices, ipod, MP3. All useful to find what I wanted.

Voila, at Creative.com, I was in the zone with a Zen. I purchased a MP3 player called a Zen plus. 4GB(gigabyte) storage capacity that can hold up to 2000 songs, depending how long the tune is. I can record my voice, when I need to leave myself a message. The option I love the best, is the ability for me to transfer all those costly Cd's right into my new little music box. The Zen Plus comes with a line-in cable that you can plug into your computer or CD player to directly record into the Zen. The player also tunes into radio stations and something my daughter can't do is shop around for the best deal to purchase music. I can choose from a variety of stores, such asWalmart.com to download my songs. Unfortunately, she has an ipod, which she thought was the one and only portable music device and can only purchase music through Apple's itunes. I have downloaded photos and mini movies of the grand-kids on to my Zen, slip the petite device, smaller than a cell phone, into my purse and show off the family to my friends at lunch.

Ipod has become a trendy, catchy name for one portable music device, but not for me. I'm in the zone with Zen. Downside to all portable audio players, joysticks, dials etc are too small to handle, especially for arthritic hands. And don't forget your reading glasses!!
