Is Jesus the Only Way of Salvation?

Pat Lunsford
"Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."

Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation which is clearly marked out in scripture and anyone who denies this is in the direct path of God's wrath.

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." (John 3:36)

What's more, Those who die without Christ will die condemned with no hope for salvation- ever.

"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

The Father bore witness to the Son so anyone who doesn't believe that Jesus is the only way of salvation is calling him a liar.

"He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son." (1John 5:10)

There is no other way of salvation. Jesus paid the ultimate price for those who would come to him and the sacrifice made on Calvary was the last.

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)

There are some who cannot grasp the mercy that God has shown us. The salvation offered by the only begotten Son of God is a free gift whereby God receives the glory. Nevertheless, some feel they have to earn salvation and thereby take the credit from God who has offered it freely to anyone who accepts it.

Then again there are those who feel embarrassed for whatever reason and allow pride to prevent them from humbling themselves before God and admitting that they are hopeless sinners.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth." (Rom. 1:6)

The wrath of God abides on all unrighteous sinners. He wants us to come to him but he is holy, which is the absolute absence of sin. Jesus carried the sins of the world to the cross so that those who accept him as Lord can clothe themselves in his righteousness and we can have access to the throne of God.

"For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ." (1Thes. 5:9)

Be that as it may, there are many who call themselves Christians who are actually not Christians at all. When we truly believe then we are transformed. Our attitude and ways begin to change as we study and obey the Lord.

"And being made perfect, he (Jesus) became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him." (Heb. 5:9)

Therefore, don't be deceived. There is no other way of salvation other than the one the Father has provided. More than 2,000 years ago our creator entered his creation to reconcile the world to himself. He was crucified on a wooden cross, yet he made the hill on which it stood. The nails were not what held him as he could have called it off at any time. It was his unfailing love for us that held him to the cross.

"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me." (John 14:1)

The day will soon come when every knee will bow to Jesus Christ and every tongue will confess him as Lord. He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Despite the magnitude of his greatness he is full of compassion and kindness. He died for us even while we were yet sinners!

No one can ever love us as much as Jesus Christ except the Father who gave his only begotten Son so that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.(John 3:16)

"Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matt. 11:29)

Is Jesus the only way of salvation? Yes- absolutely!

Amen sister. I'm glad someone has the courage to say what you did. Jesus is the One and Only way (Acts 16:30-31). I did an article on Ophrah's & Echart Tolle's "Many Paths to God" philosophy and they are in serious error, as you said, since they think that they can find God thru various ways, existenialism, etc., It's not popular today to believe that Jesus is the only way, so I applaud you & gave you a "Thumbs Up". Please read my article on this "Many Paths To God" wayward thinking. It's not of God for sure. Thanks for such an great article. I'll be back to read more from you. Thank you. Great write! http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1717616/are_there_many_paths_to_god.html?cat=37
