Is Lindsay Lohan Finally Seeing the Light?

Vanity Fair Magazine is Running Insightful Interview with Lindsay Lohan

If an interview with that she did just before she did her stint in jail and rehab is true, then perhaps Lindsay Lohan is about to turn a very important corner in her life.

Most people have certain aha moments at pivotal times in their life. The early to mid-twenties is often one of those times. At twenty-four years of age, Lindsay Lohan seems to be ripe for one of those adult moments.

In an interview she did with Vanity Fair magazine, Lindsay Lohan sounds as if she is taking responsibility for her life, for her lousy choices and the subsequent consequences. Lindsay says that she looked up to people like Britney Spears and wanted to be like her and others that she saw in the tabloids. However, now, she says, "I see where it's gotten me and I don't like it." Amen, Lindsay. Many of us have.

Even better for Lindsay, she says she still believes in herself as an actress. "I want my career back" says Lindsay. "I know that I'm a damn good actress, and it's been my passion since I was a child, and I know that when I care about something, I put 100 percent and more into it. ... I want the respect that I had when I was doing great movies. And if that takes not going out to a club at night, then so be it. It's not fun anyway. I don't care. It's the same thing every time."

Lucky for Lindsay Lohan, Hollywood is a very forgiving place when it comes to actors and actresses whose careers have been on the skids because of drugs, alcohol and reckless living. Drew Barrymore fought her back from the image she had crafted as a wild teen out of control to a respected actress, producer and director.

Robert Downey, Jr. has made huge strides since his days as a drug addicted felon, spending more times behind bars than in front of a camera. In fact, clean and sober for years now, Robert Downey, Jr is the poster child for one who rebounded from self-destruction with a happy marriage and white hot career to go with it.

Lindsay Lohan will have more opportunities than the average Joe or Josephine when it comes to lucrative and prosperous employment as a way to pull herself out of the ditches. Here's hoping that she will take those opportunities and run with them. Her best years are still in front of her and let's face it, American audiences love a good come-back story.

Go for it, Lindsay.

Let's hope she does turn it around. She can't be in the tabloids forever.

She is quite beautiful at times, Malina. I hope she can bounce back.
