Is Lindsay Lohan in Rehab Until January Wiser Than a Jail Sentence?

Now She'll Have Adequate Time to Get Clean?

Lindsay Lohan will remain in rehab until January 11, 2011, as reported at Yahoo OMG! The 24-year-old actress violated her DUI probation and could have been sent back to jail as a result. The last time Lohan was in jail was for just a brief period. She posted $300,000 bail, was forced to wear a SCRAM bracelet and was released. Subsequently, Lohan checked herself into the Betty Ford Center.

Will Lindsay Lohan in rehab prove to be what she needs?

Sentenced to 90 days in jail back in the summer of 2010, Lindsay Lohan served only 23 days of her 90 day sentence, with part of that in rehab. Most considered the time she spent in rehab ridiculously short. And, as we all predicted, Lindsay tested positive for drugs soon after. Sent back to jail, Lindsay spent only a day or two; she paid her $300,000, put on a SCRAM bracelet and was released. But Lindsay did one thing right, she checked herself into the Betty Ford Center, a world renowned rehab center that has helped a variety of people and a number of celebrities.

Now Judge Fox is keeping her there, "You're staying there past the New Year and there is a reason for that," Judge Fox said. It was exactly what Lohan wanted to hear as she cried and thanked the judge, but it may also be the best thing for Lohan. Not interrupting Lindsay Lohan's rehab gives her time to really get better. Lohan will remain in rehab until January 11. That gives her two months, since October 30 when she entered the facility, to get clean.

A fork in the road for Lohan

In court, the District Attorney noted that this will be Lohan's fifth time in rehab. But if a person wants to do well in rehab, they will. All of the blame can't be placed on the facility. It's up to Lohan to do what is necessary to get clean and stay clean. "You are an addict and I hope you understand that," Judge Fox said. He warned her that if she fell off the wagon again, "You will become unemployable, uninsurable."

It's true that "relapse is part of recovery," as Lohan's lawyer noted, but too many relapses makes you too much of a risk. Lindsay Lohan is at a fork in the road. Which way will she go?

I hope she receives the help she needs and I think that keeping her in rehab for awhile is probably the best thing for her. It is sad that people talk so much s*#t about her and her problems. Recovering from a drug addiction doesn't happen overnight. People seem to forget that she is a human being. I wish her all the best! Great article Jolie =0)

Hope for the best for her. Maybe it's just what she needs.
