Is Love Dead?

Jimmy Smith
Love may very well be dead, corrupted by money, destroyed by lust. Can two people even make it in todays world? The chances are becoming less and less with each day.

Divorce rates increase or hover around the same percentage every year which is about 40%, people are cheating and abusing their loved ones more then they did back in the old days. People grow older and forget why they were even together in the first place, is love even possible for young people these days or is society as a whole moving more towards a money orientated and promiscuous life-style.

The answer is a resounding yes, looking at young people these days, they have more sexual partners then there parents did, and are starting to sleep with people at a younger age. The kids are growing up much quicker and experimenting much younger. T.V and music informs them of everything thats happening, they can't take the knowledge handed to them, and they go berserk. Why even believe in love anymore, it just seems like a roadblock to having sex to todays youth.

Of course love still exist, but love may very well be exchanged for having as many partners as possible in the coming hundred or so years, it seems like that change is already being made, after all two is better then one and three is better then two and eventually the human race may evolve into a race that sleeps with as many people as possible and never settles down. Or perhaps settles down with a group of "friends". Imagine, tales of love all that remain of love itself.

The traditional old fashioned love model is increasingly becoming more and more out of date with todays youth, children are taught there values from other sources like other kids at school and peers or the television rather then listening to their own parents. Girls are attracted to boys that don't even like them, and get played with and used as sex objects. Their hearts turn cold, and the beginning of a promiscuous lifestyle begins.

The games played between males and females today are so outrageous and complex that love doesn't seem to stand a chance in the face of lust or greed. It's just the way our society is evolving. The human race seems to be evolving towards promiscuity and polygamous relationships, settling down with whoever they feel most comfortable with in the end and divorcing them when someone better comes along or wherever the money takes them next.

Don't forget the poor boys whose hearts are broken by girls who just want to use them as success objects. Really, your entire premise is pathologically flawed, the equivalent of "Darn those whippersnappers!" Love exists in all human socieites, even in those with a polyamorous marriage system.
