Is Mariah Carey in Love?

Mariah Carey is one of the most successful recording artists of all time. She has had ups and downs, both professionally and personally. The pop diva has been shattering record after record since she began her career in 1990. She has also had some career slumps and personal issues that have been made public.

2008 is no different! Mariah Carey has already broken records with her latest release, E=MC2. She now has more number one singles than the Elvis Presley. Her personal life is also back in the spot light. Mariah Carey has married rapper/actor Nick Cannon. This has created a lot of buzz. What can the two of them possibly have in common? Mariah is the statuesque, glamorous pop star with the multi platinum albums, and the voice of an angel. Nick Cannon is the goofy former Nickelodeon star who has yet to achieve success as an adult. It seems as if this relationship popped out of nowhere and now they are married?

Is this all a publicity stunt? Mariah has a new album out, and faces completion from the other Queen of Pop, Madonna. Nick Cannon's stardom is quickly fading away and he could use the extra publicity. Celebrity relationships can really give a career boost to all parties involved. Jay Z and Beyonce are perfect examples. Both are famous in their own right, but together, they are a power couple. Before Jay Z began his relationship with Beyonce, he was not a household name.

Nick Cannon and Mariah could also be in love. Perhaps love at first sight exists in Hollywood. Maybe the couple will stand the test of time. Maybe not! Celebrity couples don't exactly have the best track record, and the odds are not in favor for this miss matched couple. Both have had failure with relationships in the public eye. Nick Cannon has been linked to Christina Milian, Kim Kardashian, and Selita Ebanks. Mimi has been linked to Derek Jeter and Vin Diesel. Her most famous and controversial relationship was with record executive Tommy Mattola. The Pop married the older man at the beginning of the career and she is still recovering from that relationship! Perhaps Mimi should stay away from the age gaps!

Hopefully they make it as a couple, at least for Mariah's sake. She isn't getting any younger and she has expressed that she will only have children if she is married. She hasn't had the best luck in relationships either. The world is not ready for the Mariah Carey breakdown that would follow the divorce. Mariah has a lot to loss if this marriage fails. She didn't sign a pre-nuptial agreement! She already has millions of dollars in assets, and will certainly accumulate more with her latest endeavor.
