Is Your Marketing Sales List Responsive? - Ask and Ye Shall Receive

Michelle Hoffmann
Hit your list with a constant barrage of sales pitches and in short order you will no longer have a list. They will ignore you, opt out, email addresses will become no good and accusations of spam will be pointed in your direction.

If this sounds familiar you are not alone 99.999% of all lists are treated that way by their owners and the results are consistently the same. So how are you supposed to turn your list into cold hard cash if sending them offers makes them run away in terror?

The answer is deceptively simple... Do not send them any offers! I can hear you now "Whoa, what do you mean?" "Do not send them any offers"! Perhaps I should be a little more precise...

First off try asking them for feedback, knowing what is expected of you and what they want from you is important to you not only in pointing you in the right direction in being able to help them but in building the founding blocks of what should be a long lasting relationship.

Once you know what you people want, give them good solid advice that will help them achieve their goals or things of interest to them that will generate a sympathetic bond between you. This will build your credibility in their eyes.

Also by asking your list to respond to a simple questionnaire you will start separating the serious people from the tire kickers. Make a new list of the people who are responding and actively taking part in communicating with you.

Give gifts to these people, free ebooks, training or other useful tools by which they can build a business. 2x a week is a good level of communication to use with your list until you get to the point where the trust you and your information.

Then, and only then, should you consider offering them the opportunity to join you in an enterprise or venture that will make both of you money. You will have their trust and your credibility working for you.

A rule of thumb that has served me well for years has been this question. "How can I help my friends become successful?" The more friends you have and the more of them that you can help to become successful, the more successful you will be!
