Is Michael Perry Guilty?

Now I want to continue with the case from the time of the 29th till the arrest of Michael Perry and Jason Burkett on the early morning of the 30th. As I said things move pretty fact on the 29th so I'll try to go slow.

Now the police have identified Michael Perry and Jason Burkett as potential suspects at this point. The police go back to the residence of one Miranda Mapes (Michael Perry's former girlfriend) at 10674 Royal Magnolia, Conroe, TX. Ms. Mapes as you will remember was originally contacted by Sgt. Degner on the early morning of the 28th in an attempt to locate Michael Perry after he (Perry) bonded out as James Adam Stotler and she and her mother claimed to be Michael Perry's mother and sister at the time.

During the recontact by the police the police advised Ms. Mapes that if she were to hear from Michael Perry she needed to contact the police right away.

At approximately 6:30 PM on the 29th Michael Perry contacted Miranda Mapes to check on her well being, and he (Perry) then advised Ms. Mapes that he was in California. Ms. Mapes advised she heard Jason Burkett in the background with two girls. Michael Perry then asked if she needed any money and he asked how her car was doing. Ms. Mapes said they got on the subject of how he (Perry) was in the newspaper and the newspaper didn't know about the other people, but Ms. Mapes advised Michael Perry never told her who the other people were.

Ms. Mapes advised that Michael Perry told her he had gotten a new car; a Chrysler Sebring, maroon in color. Ms. Mapes then advised that Perry stated that if the "cops" came around they were going to shoot them. Ms. Mapes *69'd the number after she hung up with Michael Perry and the call came back to a number 281-353-1993 which was the residence of Catherine Lazrine of 455 Wildwood Forest Dr. #4201, The Woodlands, TX.

Ms. Mapes advised that after she hung up with Michael Perry she received a call from Miranda Mason who asked her if she had seen Michael Perry because Cody knew that Perry and Jason were seen in the cars and some lady was killed and her son was missing. Ms. Mapes told Ms. Mason that Perry basically admitted to her that he (Perry) and Jason killed them.

Meanwhile prior to Ms. Mason contacting Ms. Mapes Det. Carey Mace and Lt. Moore were at the residence of Colby Smith, best friend of James Adam Stotler. Det. Mace was led to this residence because Colby Smith had left several messages on Adam's answering machine. During this meeting Colby Smith advised Det. Mace that he had not seen his friend Adam since Wednesday in school.

Immediately following the meeting with Det. Mace Colby Smith began calling around to a number of his friends and telling them that "Adam, Jeremy, and his mom were dead and were murdered over the cars". Think about this now; before the conversation between Ms. Mapes and Ms. Mason was known about and immediately after Det. Mace leaves his residence Colby Smith knows three people were murder and they were murdered for the cars. This information is way ahead of where it should be because the police claimed they knew nothing about the murder of Adam and Jeremy until Michael Perry's supposed confession, and prior to Det. Mace's visit Colby was telling his friends Adam and Jeremy were missing but immediately after he leaves Colby starts telling people Adam and Jeremy are dead.

Now later in the evening the information about the telephone number that Ms. Mapes *69'd gets back to the police who traced it back to the 455 Wildwood Forest Dr. #4201 address. At approximately 2 AM on the 30th the police go to that residence and they meet with Catherine Lazrine and her daughter Megan Lazrine. The police advised that they were trying to locate Michael Perry and Jason Burkett because they were wanted for a "triple" homicide. The Lazrines advised the police that the subjects had been there earlier but were no longer there and they had no knowledge as to there whereabouts.

Once again the police made mention to a triple homicide that they supposedly had no knowledge at that time had occurred. The police have far more ahead in this investigation at this point then they should have had access to.
