I like action movies and comedies and though animated, Megamind is full of both. But more important, I need a good storyline. This movie delivers in that area as well. In an effort at a no-spoiler review, I will give you as much of the story as I can so you can decide if Megamind may be worth the money and time for you.
To see a spoiler-free movie trailer for Megamind, click here and scroll down the page a little. This is the trailer I saw that made me want to see the movie in the first place. The movie was changed slightly from the trailer, but you won't be disappointed in the change.
Often, the best parts of a movie are put into a trailer to get you all hyped up to see the movie. Then, when you actually go see it, you may feel let down that there was nothing good left of the movie to see. I was afraid this would happen with Megamind, as I was truly excited to go see it. But for once, I was not disappointed.
This is not the average good versus evil scenario. Though considered the most brilliant villain of all time, Megamind's schemes always seem to fail. However, in his evil plot at the beginning of the movie, he actually succeeds. Or does he?
During the course of the movie, Megamind must decide if being the world's ultimate villain is worth the cost. There are parts in the story where you might actually commiserate with the guy in his quest to fulfill his destiny.
But what is destiny and who chooses? Does good always win against evil? When faced with the possibility of a villain more evil than he, Megamind learns what it really means to be a true villain versus a true hero.
You can find out more about this movie at the Megamind movie website. You may want to wait until after seeing the movie however, as I found some of the information on the website might have given away too much information if I had viewed it prior to actually seeing the movie. There is also a 3D version playing as well.
Is Megamind worth seeing as an adult? You bet. You may even decide that you don't need to use the kids as an excuse to go enjoy this movie.

Post a CommentI agree with you and in my own review I did my best to avoid spoilers, the movie is better than you would expect and has enough adult storyline and emotion in the film to keep adults and children engaged.
Good job writing a review without spoiling it!
Sounds great. Always looking for something decent to view. Thanks.

Great review =0)
Thanks for using italics. I can't take a film reviewer seriously who doesn't even know how to punctuate a title.
Love the "No Spolier" version of this review. Great work.
Great review, thanks Jolynne!
