Is Norman Gentle the Next American Idol?

Ryan Lopez
We know that a lot of people try out for American Idol just to clown around, trying to get onto the show. But, for one lucky comic, his funny audition landed him in Hollywood. We all thought he would be cut the first week, but Norman Gentle wowed us all.

Nick Mitchell's alter ego is Norman Gentle. He goes on the show sometimes as Nick, and sometimes as Norman. He wows the judges because he also has a decent voice. He has made it into the "serious weeks" of American Idol, where the real talent is. But why did the judges let him through?

People are saying that the only reason he is still in it is because he is funny and he helps the show's ratings. Others think he actually can be funny and a talented singer at the same time. I believe that he is a little bit of both. He was let through for his comedy act in the beginning, he is actually showing promise not that he is in the top group of contestants. I know that he will not win, but he will surely go far.

The funny thing is, no comedy act has ever went through to Hollywood. Norman is the first! I think that he shows talent and showed Paula, Randy, Simon, and Kara that singing talent can be mixed with comedy.

What will Norman (Nick) do next? Well, we really cannot tell. He surprises us every time with his unique egos. So will he be Norman or Nick? Tune into Fox Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 8:00 to see.
