Adam and Eve ran around naked for a lot of their lives and never once wondered what clothing would be like until they ate the apple. Eating the apple, some say made them realize their nakedness and they became ashamed of it. A lot of people think that being naked is something that is wrong or something that should not be done.
A lot of people believe that because they do not understand the true freedom of nudity or because they have lived a sheltered life. It is hard to see nudity in a new light, when something bad has happened to you in your life. Maybe you don't see it as something that is just innocent you probably think it has something sexual about it. I hear you on that!
It's not sexual for those who choose to live as nudists. It is strictly freedom in its most nakedness form, literally. When those who think nudity is something sexual and something not to share with others, controversy interrupts and inhabits earth, making it hard for anyone to get along.
Those who see nudity as a self practicing free life are more open-minded to the things in life that other's can not even see. Nudity is harder to accept in this day in age because people have been wearing clothes for years upon years. Sure, some beaches allow nudity and even some resorts allow it.
But it is not a regular thing. You don't see people in the store who are naked. Usually if you do, they are not there very long before being carried away by the police. I don't know if nudity should be accepted in today's world as a normal natural free thing to be seen everywhere. There is too much violence and too many hate crimes and rapes for nudity to be practiced in an open world. However, I would not dare say take it away from those who enjoy it in a nude-resort.
Nudity has been around for years and have been criticized and marked as something sexual and something demeaning. I can understand feeling that way, especially if something had happened to you to make you feel that way. Other people feel that way because they were raised to believe it wrong, just like their parents were and so forth.
Is nudity bad? Or is the world just closed-minded? You decide.

Post a CommentThose who condemn nudity are criticizing the God that they worship because by his own words we are made in his image. Therefore being ashamed of our own bodies is the same as being ashamed of the image of God. Another point of view was shared with me by a very wise man. Women invented clothing because flagrant total nudity didn't excite the breeding males. They had to hid it and only give them peeks to get them aroused. As a long time naturist I find that to be absolutely true.
I don't think nudity is bad. That's like saying our bodies are a bad thing. I agree with you. You even gotten in some things I wasn't sure you'd get. Nicely said. If nudity were to be a regular thing I think you'd have to start from the beginning, no clothes either. For this world though I think it's fine the way it is.
Why does the title of this article say THE WORLD? Seems like the author is assuming that the rest of the world is like the United States of America, which most definitely isn't the case. Go to anywhere in Europe or Asia (for the most part) and watch TV. This is just an example, but you know those shampoo commercials on television? Yeah, virtually anywhere except America, nothing is censored or blocked from view by a conveniently placed item in front of your point of view, or anything like that.
My point is, AMERICA thinks nudity is bad, the rest of the world doesn't. (Except, of course, for nations like Saudi Arabia, which think even the slightest bit of skin is bad.)
I don't think you can say "Nudity is beautiful" or that "nudists don't get turned on." There's some ugly people out there who only people like me would find it a curiosity to see nude. And there are some beautiful nudists--it's the beauty that will turn on other nudists, not the fact that they are nude. I've always thought that Nudists were being dishonest when they insist that there's nothing sexual about nudism. Of course there is, in some cases. Just as with a regular beach with bikinis and swimsuits, some of the people turn you on and the others you just ignore or are appalled they put on such a tiny suit. BTW, second article I read of yours on Nudity. I'll have to see if there are any more.
Many people only remove their clothes to either bathe or have sex. That is the way they have been brought up (indoctrinated). Some are incapable of reasoning so they can only believe that there can be no other reason for not wearing clothes. Their closed minded logic then says that since a person is not removing clothes to bathe, then the reason for being naked in that case can only be sexual.
Can I get a Playboy or Penthouse to speed your demise ?
My 73 year old mother-in-law asked me the other day, "Why is nudity such a big deal. The body should be seen as beautiful"
The reason nudity isn't more accepted is because of perverts who turn it into something sexual instead of beautiful, natural, and relaxing.
Nudity isn't bad. What makes it bad to some (parents mainly) is the fear of the supposed sexual urges that happen because of it. It's the perverts who make it bad.
This is a very poorly written article.
I very much miss being able to get out and be FREE. For years I could go to a local beach and just sit or lay in the sun. Those there were of a like mind, no one gawked, or cast a dissaproving glare.
Any innappropriate activity was quickly dealt with, in a courtious but firm manner.
Not so now, not so where I now live. It is sad to think that something so natural as nudity is regarded with suspiciaon. It is not perverse, it is healthy.
Since I can remember nudity has been part of my life. I know, everyone else's too. I mean I was brought up on a reservation, then once off it I found nudity just the natural way to live. Corny, but it happens to be. The only downsides to nudity are the predatory people-rapist or those who would in any way live off real nudists. I'm 40 now and I've been employing the lifestyle in my work, it helps. Not to mention relaxing after a hard day. Those who try to use nudist resorts as a way to gratify their sexual needs, please, that isn't the idea.
