Is the Obama Administration in Contempt of Recent Court Rulings?

Snidely Whiplash
I always knew Barack Obama was arrogant. This man actually believes a lot of that "We are the ones we've been waiting for" nonsense. To add to his past dossier of arrogance now we can add this administration's propensity for ignoring Federal court rulings.

Remember the Gulf oil drilling moratorium Mr. Obama insisted was direly needed? A Federal court ruled the moratorium was unconstitutional. Then Mr. Obama almost immediately re-instituted a new moratorium and has the bureaucracy drag their feet in the approving and issuing of permits for drilling. That's arrogance right there friends. That's a blatant flouting of the lawful ruling of a US Federal court. Is that not a "high crime or misdemeanor?" If it's not it damn sure should be! A judge has already ruled the administration is in contempt of court for it's actions on this issue.

To add another generous helping of "I am Obama the Great and Impervious to Mortal Law," now he is flouting the ruling of the Federal judge last week that declared Obamacare to be "unconstitutional." Am I missing something here because as far as I can discern the administration has not suspend its implementation scheme. Is it necessary for the court to order a "cease and desist" order? By the judge's ruling, as law and precedent have typically been applied, the judge's ruling is at this moment the "law of the land." That means until an appellate court issues a different ruling, or until SCOTUS rules, this is the "law of the land."

I believe the words of DOJ spokesperson Tracy Schmaler "We are analyzing this opinion to determine what steps, if any -- including seeking a stay -- are necessary while the appeal is pending..." indicate the administration knows the judge's ruling of "unconstitutional" is binding and that within the ruling is an order for the government to cease and desist. Therefore then by the administration NOT abiding by the court's ruling Obama is clearly in contempt of court - AGAIN! Is that not the quintessential example thereof?

If this administration is Hell bent on defying Federal bench rulings and orders, what does that mean to us as citizens? As a nation of laws? To the concept of "consent of the governed?" Does the rule of law apply to the Obama Administration? It's supposed to, that's for sure!

Again I ask how it's good for American's to NOT drill our own Gulf while every foreign nation from Albania to Zambia drills the Gulf? Is Vietnam and Brazil drilling in our "home" waters safer, cleaner or more "green?" So to save the planet only the US must not drill in the Gulf, right Mr. President? If a dozen other nations drill off our shores that's fine and jolly good somehow? No, that is a forced redistribution of wealth is what that is - resources purposely denied Americans in favor of poorer nations drilling in our near waters and then selling the oil to us.

Add in the skyrocketing of oil prices, the middle East upheaval and potential threats to the Suez Canal, the Straits of Hormuz and the Red Sea shipping lanes, and I'll be doggone if NOT DRILLING our own close in oil isn't a damned bizarre position for an American president to advocate for. Seems almost criminal.

If the Obama Administration is not actively engaged in putting our Constitution in crisis I'll be darned if I can figure out what would. In what may be a complete surprise to Obama, he is not above the law. He claims to be one of us yet his ignoring the court's rulings seem as if he does not believe the law applies to his wants and actions. This is TWICE a US court has ruled against His Highness and TWICE His Highness ignored the rulings.

Lastly to try to put a less frightening spin on Obama ignoring the Constitution, as a Limbaugh caller stated yesterday "I hope no one ever proposes naming a ship after Obama. Instead they should just name an anchor after him." (paraphrased) Given Barack Obama and his exceptional arrogance, I think naming an anchor in his honor is a distinction a few pegs too high for what he should rightly deserve.

One king named an outhouse after a guy named John that made him mad. Any ideas here?

He does not believe it is unconstitutional because he does not believe in the constitution.

Who needs to abide the law and who does not?

For the Governors of the 26 states involved in the Federal Court decision,

Unconstitutional = Unconstitutional. (until and only if the decision is overturned can it be law)

The lack of an injunction does NOT make the Obama Government Health Care Take Over constitutional.

Governors, if you allow any taxpayer money to be spent, in your state, on the unconstitutional law, you should re-evaluate your oath of office.

The decisions stands unless it be changed by the appeal process, not until.

YES, he's in contempt. He keeps dishing out his arrogance with contempt for all that is American and Constitutional.

I think I'm becoming immune to the mindboggling actions of the administration. Maybe that's the plan.

From where I'm setting, Barry IS an anchor.

Spot on, Whip. His blatant (and the Administration's) ignoring of the court rulings is scary and telling.

I'm praying for our country, Whippy. It's so sad, it's lost all humor now. cheers

Don't worry Snidely in just a few years you will be able to vote for a new President. As much as we may hate or loathe what our Presidents do, at least we can change them every few years with a vote unlike some countries who have to hold violent protests in order to overthrow tyrannical rule.
